Plan on going either Whipple or TVS soon.

What size tires are you running?

And how are 1st and 2nd gear?

I wanted to do a 19" wheel setup, but tire choices are limited for a stick wide tire in stock diameter. So I was leaning towards 20s with a 305/315 R888R, but also want the car to be useful in atleast 2nd gear.

Thanks!

Has this topic been beat to death? If so my bad! Just trying to get an idea of a good tire that's not a drag radial, that'll hook. I've always ran NT555Rs on my last 2 coyotes, but this car feels nice driving. Want to try to stay away from a drag radial

I'm running a 325 4s on a 19 x 11.5 and straight line traction is not good. I've heard r888s are very good, but you'll be buying tires every year if it's a daily.

Street tires stand no chance, especially on a 373 car. NT05/R, R888R, RE71R, etc will do better but they’re not necessarily going to do well on the street.

If you’re making enough power, you won’t hook in the first two gears (MT82) and possibly not third, depending on tyre/blower/tune.
You’d have to be looking at a DR to even think about grip as an option.

If you may ever get caught in the rain, Nitto NT555R hands down. They don’t make them in 19”. I have pulled 1.40’s on them with a manual at the strip, and hooked 775whp on the street HARD.... They like to be warm and best pressure on the street is around 26psi.

ET Street SS (if you ever get caught in the rain)

ET Street R if it’s a warm weather toy

both will wear quickly, gotta pay to play.

With my old Whipple I ran MPSS and when weather permitted I swapped an extra set of rear stock (Boss 302) wheels fitted with MT ET/SS. 285/35/19 both setups.

275/35-20 Indy 500's 1st useless, 2nd break loose at will but can get some decent grip if I want to and pretty much full traction in 3rd. I only have a EB 2300 stage 1 kit some I'm not making crazy power. Nice thing about the Indy 500's is they turn well to. In the winter I run cont. DWS and they definitely have less grip but still pretty decent for a a\s tire.

I have R888R 325/30 r19 on the rear and 285/35 on the front. My car makes 800 wheel and I can't hook in 2nd (majority of the time). I will say, they are an excellent tire. I got caught in the rain with them the other day and drove like a normal human being and had no issues.

My street setups is my pp1 rims with Mt et street ss. Anything below 60 is blowing the tires off. Especially when it’s colder.

Hm thats kind of a bummer. I was thinking of getting 20" wheels and getting the 305/30 20 with a 28.4" diameter. Was thinking some extra sidewall would help it hook. I know 1st gear will be useless, but Id like to atleast have 2nd gear.
