The best was 105 in a 55 without getting a ticket when I was 18 years old. I had a '75 Monte Carlo with the old beloved 350. I could actually get the throttle to stick. When the cop pulled me over he was ready to hang me. I told him the throttle was stuck and I finally put it in neutral and shut it off. After showing him, he was a lot more understanding, but he made me have the vehicle towed which probably cost as much as the ticket would have cost.

I also got just a warning for 76 in a 55 on the south side of Dallas back in 2006 on my way back home (Kansas City) from Houston. This was in my '05 GTO. Cop was very nice about everything as I was honest with him how fast I was going, but I'd missed a drop from 65 to 55 a couple miles back. This was a couple weeks after my 9 hour 800 mile trip down to Houston (which I didn't inform him about).

A couple of my more memorable tickets were a 59 in a 55 on Christmas Eve. I don't even remember what I was driving, but the wife and two daughters were with me. Some young female cop with an attitude. Don't ever speed through Mosby, MO. And, 69 in a 55 on I-635 in Kansas City, KS. This big old black hipo with his hat cocked down over his eyes, probably 6'6", strolls up to my window and the first words out of his mouth were, "75 and brakin' on my highway!" I had no doubt that was going to be a ticket. That was in my '87 Cougar XR7.

I’m not sure what’s more impressive, no ticket or the fact you got a Tempo to 103.
Oh, I got the ticket. i don't recall how much it was. When the cop was giving me the field sobriety tests, he had me standing in front of his car. He took my glasses, I guess so he could watch my eyes and had me follow the tip of his pen with just my eyes. When I turned my head, he yelled "I said just move your eyes, not your head!". I told him to give me my glasses back because I couldn't see without them. When I finally got back in the car, he came up and asked if I knew how fast I was going. I said "No, but let me guess, you're gonna tell me, aren't ya?" I REALLY should have gone to jail that night. That actually ended up being a four car stop. The worst part was I was home for the weekend in September from college. The Tempo was my dad's lease car. I didn't have a car at school, so I couldn't come home and take care of the ticket. And I couldn't call home and ask my folks to drop off a check at the local police department for my 103 MPH speeding ticket, so I just blew it off. When I finally came home in May, the first thing my dad said was "You know they're looking for you". I played dumb, and said who? "The police. They're looking for you. If they come to the door, don't tell them you're you." My welcome home from college greeting. It's pretty funny now.

And the Tempo was a beast of a car. We pulled a small trailer with three or four 3 and 4 wheelers on it, plus 3 or for guys and all the gear on regular basis. My brother would regularly power shift through intersections racing his buddy in fox body. But then, it was a lease car, so....

So last night I got caught in Mexico at 130mph, thanks to a very nice officer I was allowed to return to America with a warning and told to calm down a bit. Just seeing if anyone else has had similar experiences?
Were you driving this?

got 3.73s put in my old 94 gt mustang and got up real early on a saturday morning (5am) and took it through the gears on a stretch of highway. went under an overpass doing at least 120mph and see in my mirror a cop up on the bank and start coming down. i pulled over and waited for him. he came up yelling at me for how fast i was going and whatnot. said i was testing it out on the only safe place i could think of and he then proceeded to say i was lucky it was shift change or he'd have me in handcuffs right now. told me to get out of there and not do it again.

my black 94 is not what you would call quiet...i was coming home at 9pm after work on a beautiful summer night, windows down, just enjoying the drive. come to a full stop at a sign, pull out like normal, come to a stop at the next sign couple hundred feet away, pull out normally and the lights turn on. i pull over into a parking lot and Buford T. Justice wanna be comes up and starts yelling at me for "hot rodding around his town". i said i had no idea what he was talking about, i came to full stops at the intersections, the car is fully legal, i wasn't speeding. he makes me step out of the car after giving him my license and such. starts picking out parts that he thinks aren't legal such as the drag radials i had on the rear. had to explain to him what they are. asks about the side exhaust and i tell him i don't have any cats but there is mufflers (dynamax race bullets). he gets renewed zeal in that but then i proceed to tell him the car is emissions exempt and point to the sticker to prove it. then goes into the whole "ya know if i wanted to, i could find something wrong this car" and the "i've been on the force longer than you've been alive boy". now i've been nothing but courteous to this point but now i'm starting to get the feeling he's going to take out the night stick and bust my taillight, which are exports and hard to find/very expensive. i start to give him a little bit of lip and ask him why he detained me. no solid answer. kept me there for a good 45min and finally let me go with a written warning for "excessive revving of engine".

Not "Mexico", but anyone who has ever driven the Lodge Expressway in Detroit knows that the following bit is absolutely insane.

I was in my '87 'Vette, following an '88 35th Anniversary 'Vette northbound on the Lodge. We were clipping about 100 (the insane part). A Camaro entered the expressway and caught me off. I got around the Camaro and floored it to chase the '88. I saw 142 on the dash (more insane). At that point I started to back off because I could feel the front end start to lift. The '88 got off the expressway and parked next to a nightclub. I followed him and we started to chat. The Camaro pulls up next to our parked cars. Two gorgeous girls in the car. I was still single at the time so my hopes went waaaay up  The passenger flashed a badge and said "Lucky for you a$$ho!es we're off duty". There went my hopes :brokenheart:

I got pulled over while leaving a car meet once. The cops were parked by one of the entrances/exits to the parking lot and all the cars that were leaving the meet where going to a different exit, but when I left i went through the exit that the cops were parked at. One proceeded to follow me and pulled me over for making an "illegal turn" which was BS, they just wanted to stop me. A couple police officers get out and ask if the car is mine, to which i reply yes. They then get my license and ask me what the "M" restriction on it is. I say it's not a restriction it's a classification for a motorcycle. They then ask what the lights on my grille are (RTR grille), basically just looking for anything to ticket me for. I swear some cops are idiots with nothing better to do. Just want to feel like they have some kind of authority in their life. SOME.

I got pulled over for driving with no lights on, in my driveway. I back out of the driveway, turned the lights on and took off and they pulled me over.

I was thinking the same thing, first car was a Topaz and I don’t think it ever hit 90 haha
78 in a 30 ..... in an 83 Escort. Was all but maxed out, no way that thing would run 100 (or 90 for that matter) unless you dropped it off a building. I pulled over after seeing him and waited for him to catch up and pull in behind me. Probably the only reason I got a warning.

Sometimes cops just flat out lie. I got a ticket for doing 70 in a 60. He said, " I clocked you at 70 mph", so he gave me a ticket. I knew good and well he was lying and never clocked anything. Because I was going 80mph. Such a liar.

I have a radar detector so I have barely missed a couple close calls doing 100+. mexico Cop did get me going 35 over but he didn't have his radar on so all he could say was I was going over the speedlimit 1-5 and claimed pacing as his speed detection.

yeah the state of mexico cop tried that on me and I told him "That's a liand pointed at my detector. Said I was going 55 in a 50. LIE i was going 85.. He had to settle for a pacing ticket. Then he leaned his bag fat elbow on my mirror and I told him to get off my mirror. he did. I don't like being pulled over and lied to.

The officer told me that he didn't get me on radar, and exhibition of speed was all he could get me for, honestly I think he may have been a car guy. I did shake his hand and say thank you, if it were a certain other officer that I have had multiple bad run ins with I would have left in cuffs

Good thing Mexico has a good extradition agreement with the US.
