One week from now marks my 20th anniversary on the Corvette forum.
Before that, I got my start on the F-body forum in the early 1990's.
Hence the alias "imxz28" !
What's my point. I love Camaro, Vette and now stabling a nice Steed.

As I said earlier. All this banter is good. It's fun!!

Clowns in here still comparing a base C8 to top of the totem pole mustang?

LOL.
Yep, people are still in here comparing a heavy, front engine/RWD, Mustang variant to a mid-engine, lightweight Corvette variant. Your powers of observation are incredible!

That's the way to do it. Never limit yourself to brand or model.

I must say, the OP of this thread really did a good job of trolling. He only posted 3 times after The original post. He threw gasoline on this fire and ran.

great troll job!!!

This is something that some people just can't wrap their brains around. I get that there is a long standing rivalry, and a lot of it is in good fun, but you can tell that's not all there is.

Some folks have a need to justify their choices to an extreme. I just ignore them.

On the flip side, in real life, I've talked to and received way more props from Stang owners than other Camaro owners.

Boy, how things have changed in 3 years. The zl1 beat the R in every performance metric, even tho it should be compared to the 1le as there the same price, yet everyone on this site said it should having 120+ more hp even tho it was heavier. Now the gt500 comes out with 265 more hp and beats the C8 on a track made for high hp cars and now the C8 is a failure. Can’t have it both ways.

They have blinders on. Yes the MT H2H 3 years ago beat the GT350 time wise but it made them feel better, so it won the H2H.

We not talking content. You can’t check every box on the option chart then say it’s similar price. It’s feature to feature. There are many things that the Vette has that is not available in the gt500. There may be some who a switching, but all 40,000 Vette being made are sold. How many gt500 are being made, 5000? So still 8 times more are buying the Vette over the gt500.
And they love the retail value of their 40,000 unit base in 2 years...35-45K....Shelby will still be 65K if not more.

Every advantage that extra power the GT 500 has is more than compensated for by the weight, mid engine configuration/AERO, and track suspension tune given the C8. I already explained that a few post earlier.

They are far from the same price. A 1lt with z51 and mag is about $10,000 less. This is very similar set up as the GT500 with handling package. Far from same price.
You're confused... the BASE GT 500 in the test was LESS expensive that they Vette.....and I don't remember them saying it has the Handling Package....I think you are confusing the CFTP with the Base car optional handling package(Gurney Flap and splitter extensions)...

We we have over 12 used gt350 in my area ranging from 2016-2018 with all but one with more then 8000 miles on them ranging from 38k to 54k. So have no idea where your 65k is coming from. And what good is having a car and not driving them to hold there value. Then I’m sure many paid over msrp especially the 16’s, and yet there all in low 40k. There all similar priced for same year zl1. Might be different in other area’s, but here used ones are not selling. Being manual only I’m sure doesn’t help.

the base gt500 tested price was over $80,000. Had handling package, entertainment and Recaro’s. I still don’t know what they added to the Vette. A 3lt with z51 and mag is under $80,000, so have no idea what other options were put on it to get to 88k.

GT350 is no longer the hot ticket....look at what 13-14 GT500's are still bringing at 6 and 7 years old...

and you know all this because you were there and know all the ins and outs of the gt500? So the pics of Ford engineers going over the car didn’t have it set up for track?

There in the 40k range, but many don’t even have 10,000 miles on them. So again, what good is a car if it just sits in the garage to hold value?
