I will admit 20’s look good but from the performance aspect they’re horrible. The car feels heavier like the 20’s feel like they’re weightin the car down. With braking it takes the car little bit longer to slow down and also with accelerating. Weirdly enough my 20’s weigh less than my stock 19’s. I’m really thinking about going back to 19’s (Lightweight) lol. Especially seeing that I’m about to add a whipple

I didn’t like the drive with big wheels on my 17 GT PP either, I went down to 18’s with 275 NT05’s on all 4 and the car felt much lighter and handled like it was glued to the road.

I loved how 20s looked but after I dropped down to 18s, it felt amazing and noticeably lighter in every aspect. More tire cushion was a plus too

Even if the 20"s weight a little less, a lot of that mass is in the barrel and the tires, which is 1" farther away from the hub versus 19s, so you can have a lighter wheel which takes more energy to spin up. Also sometimes 20" tires are heavier than their 19" equivalents because they require more internal structure or something.

Go with a light weight 19" even better.

I miss that feeling my 19s gave... glued to the road

There’s a lot more to it than wheel size. Just because the wheels are 20” doesn’t mean they’re automatically worse for performance than any set of 19’s. What size are your 20” wheels/tires? What kind of tires are on the 20’s? What tires were on the pp wheels?IIRC, you’re running a rather large rear wheel/tire which would absolutely have a negative effect on acceleration. I also agree with what @NightmareMoon stated earlier in that weight distribution of the wheels plays a factor as well. I know @Roadway 5.0 went back and forth for a while before settling on a set of 20” wheels. And his car is pretty function based.

I went with 19’s because I thought it would be a good mix between function and form. Do they make 19” versions of your current wheels? I really dig the silver on blue

With regular driving the car is all over the place

Currently:
Front: 20x9 - 275/35/20 Goodyear tires
Back: 20x10.5 - 315/35/20 Pirelli P Zeros

Silver wheels is okay but I’m ready to go back to black wheels. I’m more than likely going to change wheels

Usually mixing brands of tires on a mom & pop DD makes no difference in normal driving,
I have seen a marked difference in handling on an older mustang I owned when I had different brand tires on front and rear.
I then went with a matched same brand tire combo and all was good again.
As I am writing this I also recalled having had a similar problem on some company vans when the front tires were replaced with
different manufacturers from the rears, with a different tread pattern ... steering was vague and sloppy.
It could just be a slight difference in grip, sidewall flex and such when mounted on a high performance car and then driven whether "normally" or spiritedly
that handling is disturbed . JMHO.
I am assuming that all wheel alignment calibrations are in spec with your particular set-up.

Yep, I love my MRR 20s with Michelin MPS4S. I stretched a 275 on my 10” front which really facilitates precision steering. I wrapped the wheels in 30 series tires, which actually shrank the overall radius by 0.5”—acceleration “felt” quicker (probably isn’t). Wheel weight is about 24lbs; each tire was 1lb lighter than my OEM Pirellis.

Imo, a 275 Goodyear on a 9” front is too wide for good steering wheel feel and response. This is likely part of your issue. If you’re tramlining a bunch, try aligning your front wheels with more toe-in.

All and all, I think the 19” is the best overall wheel especially if you square them up and race. The 20s though, I think the look is perfection—you just have to be very selective with tire brand and sizing.
