Hi all,

I am looking to buy a set of Mickey Thompson Sportman SR front runners over the winter for a set of Weld S71 17x5 fronts. What tire size should I go with? 26”? 27”? 28”??

These are going on a 2015 GT Base. Hellion TT. Auto

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

I have 28's and it fills the wheel well up nicely. I'm also on the BMR drag set up. No rubbing or anything.

Excellent!!

I’ll be running all the BMR Drag suspension parts as well.

Are you running the BMR drag springs??

yes, I have the drag springs on the front and rear. The rake is about 3/4" or so.

I feel a 27" would look the best but I'm not aware of any options to get a 27" tall tire with an 18" wheel.

I personally run the 26" but it's a little to short for my liking, both aesthetically and functionally (gives the car too much rake and looks a bit small in the wheel well; also increases the likelihood of scraping which is an issue if you street the car a lot).

Now the 28" also looks a bit too tall IMO but I'm not sure how functionally different it is relative to the 26".

Any special brakes??

I’d love to run the Alumastars up front. But as far as I know, I need drag brakes.
