Yeah seeing a lot more Civics, Golfs, and Sonata turbos around. Makes sense seeing as Dodge, and Ford exited the market and Chevy has no performance small car. They literally gave that market to imports, and they don't even make great SUV's.

This about this. The EcoSport was outsold 2-1 by the Buick tiny SUV.... a BUICK!

Ford is abandoning the lower end of the automotive world in the quest for higher priced and higher profit vehicles. They are moving as far away as you can from the founding premise of the company affordable cars for everyone.

Maybe not. Golfs in general along with GTI and Golf R sales were down this year and last year. In fact they were so bad, they stopped selling them early and won't have more for another 18 months for the new mk8. Pretty much the same for Civics. Even Honda Accords are down. Possible that even with sedan sales in general being down, some Ford sedan sales may have gone to other mfrs, but some were probably to SUV's/CUV's.

Ecosports where designed for a small market , they are tiny and have sewing machines under the hood. Don’t forget About Lincoln , they are blowing the doors off Buick and it’s not all about how many units ford and Lincoln puts out also look at profit. It does not cost much at all to make $30-100,000 priced Lincoln’s. For instance aviators we can’t keep in stock and we are selling for $60-80,000.00 and not really discounting $$$$$$ i hate the way the market is heading but it is what it is.

Yeah, I remember guys in the 90's BEGGING for a Cosworth. They finally bring over an RS and give it like 2-3yrs? Then kill the whole line.

The Fiesta was only rivaled by the Honda Fit.

They should have killed the Taurus and given the Focus a refresh, it was mostly unchanged for almost 6yrs. Fiesta and Fusion still had strong sales. The Fusion Sport should have been called Fusion SHO, with the new 3.0TT. They should have also given the 2.3 a bit more of a rework and released a 360HP SVO EcoBoost Mustang with the "hi-po" handling kit. Or just also used the Lincoln 3.0TT for a ~400HP SVO.

Fusion, Focus and Fiesta could share the 1.0T, 1.5T ecoboost, and a Performance 1.5T
Fiesta uses 1.5T Performance in the ST
Fusion SHO(330HP), Mustang(330HP), Mustang SVO(380HP) and Focus RS(350hp) share the 2.3T

3 base engines with a lot of shared manufacturing used with 4 cars, not counting the SUV's and Lincoln vehicles they would work in. Larger SUV's/trucks get the 2.7, 3.5 Ecoboost or 5.0

Focus has always been crap. I remember back when the Focus came out. The ZX3 was heavier and slower than the Escort ZX2, and on autocross and drag tracks the ZX2 S/R guys were doing identical times to the 3yr newer SVT Focus with 30HP less while costing 3K less. They didn't make a focus that actually out performed the '00 S/R till like 2012. Sad.
