Now that the preliminary information is done and not everyone who wants one has secured a 2020. What are the new features Ford will add in the future years to further entice new buyers and the lucky ones to upgrade?

  • lighter weight
  • KR version
  • More power
  • Luxury features

I don’t think much will change.
2022 may be the last year.

Manual Transmission, the demand for it is just too high for Ford to ignore.
I wouldn't hold my breath. I do wonder how adamant Porsche was on not doing a manual, before they changed their minds...if anyone knows.

Maybe the fender vents make it onto some super duper model 500!

NTSO: <smile>

I'll be surprised if there's a follow-on 500 what with electric coming on so strongly. Then there's the Bill Ford rumor saying he wants to make Ford a "technology company."

But m guesses are nearly always wrong so who knows?

Real adamant but they listened to their customers. It was easy because they were friggin screaming. How the hell FORD missed this is beyond me! Idiots!

What exactly __is__ the demand? Like where is that stat being compiled with any accuracy? Here on this site, you can draw some anecdotal estimates, and sure, there's a few folks saying they'd be a buyer with a manual, but: 1) really? 2) is Ford hitting their sales targets without those buyers?

i wonder how many manual preferring people would actually change from DCT now after realizing how good the DCT is?

i have been always a manual only guy, but after a few drives in a 458 and reading the reviews of the gt500, really has me thinking of DCT even if manual was available

A new color would be just about the only thing changing for next year. Maybe they’ll do something different for the last year

Sell the 500 for a year or two.
Then offer a KR with all of the above and stupid levels of power, electric assist or no.

The only changes I can see Ford doing for 21-22 are new paint colors and minor cosmetics.

The only thing that will change IMO, but likely nothing
1. Any changes related to problems with 1st year run, so this is really a fix, not a change
2. Infotainment changes, as they relate to the Mustang platform in general
3. color choices, maybe base model wheel design
