I suppose if you already have an active exhaust on the latest mustangs that you want to change the tone for this would make a lot of sense. But for $450+ I'd just cheap out and use a cheaper H or X pipe for my ancient 2016 with the S-Type mufflers.

I think at this point Borla can do no wrong to my ears. So I would still give it a thumbs up at a traffic light.

I have to say the microphone on that camera (GoPro?) seems to pick up pretty good sound range.

Hi Borla,
When will you make a resonator replacement that slips over the cat pipes?
Resonator replacements that slip inside the cat pipes seems like an unnecessary restriction.
Thanks,

They're the same diameter as the cat pipes, not smaller. The OEM clamp at the catback joint is 2.25" ID. The resonator and resonator deletes are 2.25" OD in this section.

Yep. The ID of the resonator replacement should be larger than the OD of the cat pipe to fit over it; not reduced to fit inside the cat pipe. It would be worth the extra $ to have a new larger clamp.

(2.25/2)*(2.25/2)*3.1459 = 3.97 [square inches]
(2.5/2)*(2.5/2)*3.1459 = 4.91 [square inches]

I want more area before the crossover.
Cheers,

It's the same size pipe as the catalyst outlet pipe. The main restriction is that pipe. The perceived "neck down" isn't that at all. It's a butt joint between two 2.25" OD pipes of the same ID. The OEM clamp just holds them together and seals the butt joint.

You are correct. I just watched an install video and the cat pipe is swaged down also.

Damn Ford; Why you wasting time and money swaging both resonator and cat pipes, if you’re gonna butt. connect them.
Cheers,

Has anyone heard this in person? The Borla video had a high rev rasp to it at the end of the rev. Wondering if its really like that? I want deeper tone not rasp.

Let us know if you would like pricing on this!

We don't personally have any sound clips, we do believe the Borla x pipe would pair very well with your Borla axle back!
