So is this a clean side separator since it dumps back into the engine? I assume aftermarket will take care of the dirty side?

It is on the "dirty side". I have had a oil-air separator on my 2013 GT350 for over 6 years and the oil in the separator has always been clear and clean.

I don't worry about it but some people will swear putting dirty side separator oil/carbon/moisture/contaminates back into the engine is sinful....

You can call Autonation or Tasca, they can get it for you for about $450 plus tax and shipping.

Maybe we can get a group purchase price somewhere.

So about $1000 for an oil separator & the required new valve covers...One that dumps the oil back into the engine. Hmmm.

For those that haven’t had a super-charged engine before, an oil separator is a must. Those oil fumes lower the effective octane number which can cause detonation, and the goo gets all over the intercooler and super-charger blades. Its a real mess, even for a daily driver.

I certainly recommend putting one on this engine. But this version is just too expensive for me.

I believe for the 500 its $450, to mount it to a coyote you need the additional covers- extra $. so $450 is rather cheap for actual OEM quality

Might need the new valve covers for the GT500 too. There is an extra hole for the return line that may not be on the base car.

Not according to Ford Performance.
This oil-air separator is a must have for any GT500 track enthusiast!
  • Fits 2020 Mustang GT500
  • Original equipment on the 2020 Mustang GT500 Track Package
  • Designed and engineered by Ford Performance engineers during thousands of track miles specifically for installation on the 2020 GT500
  • Will work with 2011-2017 5.0L and 2015-2019 5.2L engines with the addition of M-6067-M52S Aluminum Cam Cover-Pair

Maybe we will get lucky and the base model will have the holes for the return lines. But I’m guessing the base model gets the same valve covers as the GT350. If you look at the M-6067-M52S valve covers, they have a machined hole for the return line.... FP can probably confirm for us.

If I'm reading correctly it says it fits the 2020 GT500 with no additional equipment but the GTs and GT350s can be retrofitted with the cam covers. Not sure why they would put special covers on the CFTP.
