$489?! Wow
I had it in my excel spreadsheet for my mods at 450 so I would say it’s right in line with what other good separators cost. We are talking OEM and performance that usually equals $$$.....lol

I was going to say the aftermarket will be much cheaper, but that looks like a quality piece that aftermarket wont be able to match.. guess i should order one now I suppose.

I would like to see the canister though

Interesting (though I guess no big surprise) it fits earlier Coyote/ Voodoos:

  • Will work with 2011-2017 5.0L and 2015-2019 5.2L engines with the addition of M-6067-M52S Aluminum Cam Cover-Pair
With another $500 worth of valve covers!

The aftermarket always comes out with something good and similar.

Didn’t spend that for the passenger side on my GT350 for OEM quality. I guess the bracket brings it up another $200 almost.

Will a driver side be needed?

Is this something that would be recommended for someone who has no plans to track their car? I hope to do some spirited driving but nothing like the rigor of the track.

IMO if you push the gas pedal at ALL it is worth not having to worry about oil in the intake, or at least lessoning it.....Taking the intake/SC manifold off an LT4 with less than 2000 miles I was surprised to see the amount of oil I did, different engine but seems most SC engines see this and can benefit

Thank you for your insight. As a follow up, is this something that should be dealer installed for someone with very little mechanical experience? I suppose I could learn considering I have 14 years of post secondary education, but I’d hate to fuck up an 80k+ car.

I have no experience with S550 mustangs specifically but most oil separators are generally pretty simple and only involve plumbing some rubber lines, t-fittings, and small bracketry. I would think anyone with minimal mechanical skills and the ability to read directions should have no issue. And coming from FP is should be plug and play...no guessing.

The nice thing about this separator is that it requires no maintenance and is self draining. Another plus is that it is factory certified and smog compliant, you won't have the remove it when you go in for a smog check.

I would like to think so, but I bet this is more a "track - off road only" - type part that will not be CARB certified.
