I ordered velocity blue. Now, looking at the current color pallets that are being posted, velocity blue is a lighter blue than FP blue. It is very confusing. Not sure what to think, blue color-wise. Other than that, I'm thrilled to be getting a Shelby Cobra GT500.
This is what Velocity Blue looks like in person.
That color looks better with black accents so it will look better on the GT500.

Keller: I am now more confused than ever over the two "blues." I tried to compare your file, color-corrected, against other blue '500 photos I have and I swear it's almost impossible to determine which is which. So, I feel for you "blue folks" when trying to figure out what your car will look like. I have it easy with Rapid Red.

You can't post a picture and assume it looks like the real thing in real life to anyone else seeing it.

Cameras are different and even if the picture looks right to you on your screen, it won't look the same on the vast majority of other screens because screens are different and rarely calibrated even when possible.

HD: You make a good point with regard to calibrated displays. On your other point, it is my experience these days that camera sensors are so good and so color-accurate that as long as the white balance is correct, two colors should look identical or nearly identical. Granted, sunny or overcast conditions can affect this but again, with the correct white balance, colors should be close. My displays are in fact calibrated and I still can't tell which photos are which when it comes to the two blues.

But, if a display is not calibrated, all bets are off when it comes to color accuracy for sure.

You have a point but that picture is of a car I looked at at a local dealer and my picture looks very close to what it looks like in person.
Performance Blue looks better with white stripes and Velocity Blue looks better with black accents.

I get it, but one of my points is it will look different on other screens.

Johnny: I'm with ya on discerning the difference between VB and PB in photos. I have about 35 "blue" car photos but not entirely sure which is which.

My images can be seen here.

The first 12 in your collection are Performance Blue.
After that there are some of both.

Keller: Many thanks for that but unfortunately, I've re-ordered some of them. <laughing> But, I'm pretty sure I know which twelve you're referring to.

Meanwhile, here's a test for one and all. What color are each of these six vehicles? White balance is correct on all but obviously, some were inside and some outside and, the sky conditions and time of day were different for the outdoor shots.

You're the man, Keller! (And I hope your assumptions are correct.) But are you sure that #3 is PB? It sure looks like VB.

Yes #3 is Performance Blue.
It looks a little funny in that pic though.

Cameras, lighting and viewing screens vary but the 3rd picture on my screen looks identical to my VB painted stripes.

Dang it...I give up on "the blues." :-)
The car is pic #3 was at Angel Stadium.
That was were that Ford Employee said the GT500 MSRP was $67,000.
I believe she was fired.
