That would be great if you could get documentation that 792 was indeed the last '19 R?
Having the first (001), and the last, would truely be quite lucky...!!!!
Congrats and enjoy the new toy.

Agreed that having the first recent generation R Model would be very cool but can tell you that chassis number "F0001" from the 2015 MY belongs to the Ford family and it was 1 of 6 Base R models of the 37 total R models assembled for the 2015MY.

FWIW the last Base R model built last year was chassis number of "JR394" and it belongs to a fellow in the San Francisco area and he was able to purchase that car well below the MSRP listed price out of Virginia and is 1 or 135 Base R models built.

If in fact chassis number "KR792" is the last R model produced for the 2019MY that would give us a total of 2930 R models built since the 2015MY.

these are the threads that @PP0001 can't resist.

wait for it...wait for it...

[congrats on the car. but wow, they made almost 800 R's?!]
To your point who would have thought that the 2019MY would have come up with this many R models?

I suggest that the 2020MY will be the last year for the R model as we know it therefore I am suggesting that production numbers may be the lowest of any MY year aside from the 50th Anniversary 2015MY!

:)

I am really surprised actually. As of spring this year ford was " supposedly" only going to produce around 420 R models for 2019. I guess I should have waited and bought mine in 2020. I absolutely love the R I have, but I was mislead with production numbers for 2019 by ford rep. in New England. Not impressed.

I am surprised as much as you are with respect to the production numbers for the 2019 R Model and if you were lead to believe that only ~420 units to be built I would not be happy either.

Of the last 5 MY's only the 2017 production numbers the 2019 production numbers with 942 R's produced in 2017.

If you are interested in low production numbers from a year to year standpoint I will suggest that the 2020MY will have the lowest R Model production numbers for the last 6 years aside from the anomaly 50th Anniversary 2015MY whereby only 37 cars were produced which surprised me a bit since there were only 36 R's produced in 1965.

I was speaking to a Ford dealership employee up in Canada who I have known for a long time with him being with Ford for 42 years and he has been told that Canada will only be getting 10 R Models for the 2020MY and if that is the case those numbers will certainly suggest that the U.S. will also not be getting very many R Models for this upcoming year.

With you just getting your 2019 R I am sure that you are not interested in a 2020 R but for those who are I suggest that they pull the trigger very soon if they can find an allocation for a 2020 R.

If someone can land an early 2020 R that would be pretty cool as I was very lucky to locate the earliest R model for 2017 and passed the information along to a great friend who pulled the trigger on the car and now resides in his cool car collection.

@PP0001 , can you fill the 2015 and 2016 R production #s? i believe 2018 R's were 637, but correct me if i am wrong...

2015:
2016:
2017: 942
2018: 637
I think by the time 2020 production is complete the numbers will be approximately :

GT 350 BASE = 15,000 units

GT 350 R = 3000 units

2015-2020.

2015:
2016:
2017: 942
2018: 637
2015 - 37
2016 - 526
2017 - 942 (correct)
2018 - 633
2019 - 792??

Of those 2930 R's built for the last 5 MY's there were 2795 R's built with the Electronic Package and 135 built as Base models and for the first 4 model years 275 R's were shipped to Canada, Mexico and the Caribbean.

Hope that helps!

So based on these numbers we are on track for a total of roughly 3400 R’s by the end of 2020 ?
