Specs were released yesterday at Corvette Event.

490/495HP with Z51 setup

0 to 60MPH in 3.0 (Base) Z51 is 2.9 seconds.

0 to 100 MPH in 7.6 seconds. (Not sure how fast compared to other cars)

Quarter mile in 11.3 (Camaro ZL1 1LE is 11.4 with 650HP)

Top Speed is 193MPH

Curb Weight: 3535 lbs

Amazing specs for $59,995.00 (should keep ADM pricing down on GT500)

I guess if the GT500 is running 10.8 in the quarter then it won't be a contest.

Braking from 60MPH seems anemic, 108 feet. I expected much less.

C7 stops in 90 feet.

At 3,535 lbs it should handle great.

I was leaning towards a Base GT500 until this news. Decisions, decisions.

Think I'll wait to see how both cars do in the real world.

My guess is 0 to 80 MPH this thing will beat a lot of expensive imports.

Not bad. Z51 is $5000 more I think but still pretty good times for $65k. LT2 is also more expensive.

Whats up with those gear ratios? Im no DCT expert but why the 3 speed and 4 different overdrives?

Yep, $5,000.00. LT2 (490HP) is the Base V8 engine.

You get firmer suspension and NPP exhaust. I'm not familiar with the whole Z51 package.

But I can't understand why the braking is 18 feet longer than a C7, that sucks. I was expecting 90' +/-

So if you opt-out of the Z51 option its 3.0 seconds (1/10th second slower) and the Base options are pretty damn good for $59,995.00

Hard to believe you can buy an American mid-engine car that goes 3.0/11.3 qtr and 193 MPH top speed for $59,995.00

I think Camaro ZL1 sales gonna get killed.

I read somewhere that the brake setup on this car is not as robust as in the past. The times are interesting. The car should be a performer. Most of the news I was seeing and reading though was on the Z06 being 800hp and TT setup.

Great times to be a car guy. I really do believe this is the last hurrah.

ZL1 sales will probably not get affected like the GT500 sales probably won't get affected, much anyways. The vette people don't buy Camaros much or vice versa. Two different vehicles. Ford peeps aren't going to fall all over themselves to go over to GM. Especially, since the GT500 is coming out.

Since the internet loves bench racing so much...

2019 CORVETTE STINGRAY
w/ Z51 Performance Package

Quarter mile time: 12 seconds @ 119 MPH
0-to-60 time: 3.8 seconds
Braking distance from 60 to 0 MPH: 107 feet
Maximum lateral acceleration: 1.03 G

1 foot... That could be the difference between service temp and/or conditions at the time of testing... Not 90 feet.
The ZR1 was 97 feet and 88 feet with ZTK... Far from 'base' model I'd say.

The C8’s #’s are impressive. It’s a beautiful machine, mid-engine even under $75k is great ,but,,,, it’s just not even a consideration for me. I personally want an old fashioned American hot rod, look and feel. I want tire shedding power and looks. The C8 is just to refined for my taste.

I'm not super impressed with the car's specs to be honest. A 2019 GT PP1 10R80 with a Lund E85R only tune with decent tires will drag close to those quarter mile times and mph. I've got about $38k into my 18 GT all total, bought new, light bolts ons and already went 11.43 @ 123mph on a 1.82 60ft. Not arguing the track handling capability of the car, but I wouldnt be focusing on the 1/4 mile times for a $60k car that a $38k light bolt on GT will run with.

The C8 Corvette is a very nice car.

I won't be tracking it. I can go full throttle for 2.9 sec a LOT on the street. Never gone full throttle for a quarter mile on the street. So easy choice for me.
