Dealership won’t service a Shelby That was not purchased at their dealership

First time I’m hearing this.
Went in to negotiate on a 350R they had at my local dealer. They won’t do MSRP, said they’ll come down to 3K over MSRP.

I told them with a little leg work I could find one for MSRP somewhere else in the country and have it shipped to my house.

But I want to build a relationship with them because they are my local dealer.

Sales manager said to me that they won’t service a Shelby at their dealership unless it was bought there.

I asked him if this was the case for all Ford dealerships and he said yes.

Is this guy trying to pull a fast one on me or is this the policy for all Ford dealers?

It makes absolutely zero sense to me that Ford would allow dealers to do that.

I made sure to ask him repeatedly if that was the case with ALL Ford dealerships and he said yes.

I’m fairly certain the guy was trying to swindle me into paying the ADM and buying the 350R they’ve had sitting on their showroom floor for a while.

I just figured I’d come in and check with you guys.

Your warranty is with Ford not with the dealer. Any Ford dealer must honor warranty work. So why not offer any service. What if you had an issue out of your area? Dealer is BS.

This is north eastern NJ, Bergen County. All American Ford in Paramus to be specific.

They are one of the biggest dealerships in the state. They get tons of allocations a year for 350s and Raptors because they sell so many cars.

It was the sales manager that hit me with that none sense. Unreal !

I’ll never spend a dime st that place, even if my car needs service.

Yeah, I know. I bought a number of cars from them in the early 2000's at their main location in Hackensack. The Paramus location was originally Chevrolet's. I once had an issue with a sales manager and took it straight to the owner. Problem solved. but that was a long time ago.
