While you’re replacing it I would suggest to check your spark plug gaps. I was having problems of fuel cut at full throttle above 5,000 rpm. Replaced the sensor but also checked my gaps and after 15,000 miles they went from .026 to .042. Fixed the gap and my problem went away but who knows if it was due to the gap or the sensor
Yeah my factory plugs were with a a couple of .001s, but Adam's were spot on. I'll pull one and check but I'm not too awful worried about the Iridiums

The sensor at the bottom (BA) is the factory sensor:

The blue O-ring didn't come on the new sensor so I had to move it over, you can definitely tell some exterior design changes.

Here is the picture of the sensor itself:

You can see the vent hole that's mentioned before, and you can see the discoloration from the fuel vapor. I have only used 93 Octane, Top Tier fuel from Costco in this vehicle, it's never seen a lower octane rating.

There was an immediate difference in idle quality, when looking at the factory Air/Fuel gauge on the center of the dash the needle and readings definitely doesn't bounce between the 13.8 and 14.2 and holds steady between 14 and 14.1.

I haven't hooked up my scanner/scope to it yet to see if the factory reading is as accurate as the sensor from the OBD2 system. But I have a feeling it will be pretty close.

Plugs looked good and gapped accordingly (still), they were purchased and installed less than 2500 miles ago.

Just took it for a 10 miles drive to work on a 1/4 tank. Seemed much smoother pickup and idle at stop lights. Gas mileage went up .3 in 10 miles.

Also, it shuts down easier, when I turn it off when parked it’s a smooth stop of idle. It seemed to stumble and then shut down before.

Does this affect the 2018 models or has a new sensor been factory installed for this issue prior to 2018-2019 builds?

It might affect 2018 models, it seems the issue really came to light in the Ecoboost Mustang community this spring (probably 2/3rds of the way through model year 2018 production). The only way to know for sure is to pull the part off and see the part number revision.

This could be a goofy question but if one strips the threads of the connector on the fuel hose is there no way to tap the connector to create new threads and be able to use the original hose? Might save a few dollars and down time.

If 1 strips out the threads on the fitting 1 would be more prudent to just replace said fitting and sensor ..

FYI....I changed my mid-2018 production sensor this weekend as it was not the updated version.
It is the easiest automotive task I have ever undertaken, and takes about 3 minutes; easier than putting a new registration sticker on straight.

So it's been ~6 months since this fix was published. Has anyone had an Ecoboom after doing the swap on this low pressure fuel sensor?

I’m curious if this affects my 2018. I don’t know my part number. I stumbled on this thread last night. I’m Cobb stage 1 tuned. NGK plugs from Adam. Has anyone on here blown a 2018 yet? Stock or tuned?

My 2018 had the old sensor. Took all of 3 minutes to change out for the updated sensor.

When he says to get into boost slightly, what’s that mean? 5-10 psi? 10-15?

I put this through Google Translate, and the poster is asking the question "Is my sensor dead now?"

When I've seen the sensor die in my own car, it was reading off scale high, and showing the highest pressure at all times (Lowside Fuel Pressure Actual), with lots of misfires...

I ordered a new sensor from ebay, but until it reaches 30 days, that’s not enough or I can drive a sensor that I have from the factory. Here at idle photo, today.
