So umm are C7 ZR1s getting cheap yet? Id drive the shit outta one of them no lies.
Yes I can get a C7 Z06 for around 70K using my discount and a Grand Sport for around $50K. Without any discounts a couple grand more.

Like I said earlier. The demographic won't change. 20 year olds are not suddenly going to run out and buy a $60,000+ car. I don't care where the motor is located.
Base C8 demographics will be closer to what the GT350 is.

Out of all of them Between GT350 GT500 C8 and C7 ZR1 id take the GT350 hands down and put a TVS 2650 VMP Gen3 on it for less than the cost of a GT500.

The GT500 does nothing for me and the GT350 Voodoo engine is THEEE best sounding American V8 EVER period.

Disagree fight me LOL.

That engine alone is worth its price tag.

GT350 has 4 seats so its not the same demographic and never will be.

Thats a perfectly valid option if you must have a manual. But have fun getting beat by gt500s c8's, c7 zr1, z06, zl1, demons, hellcats, whippled a10 and a6 5.0's, and basically any other auto muscle car for more cost and less reliability. Probably will run low 11's in the 1/4 at like 135 since manual. Maybe a glory run in the 10s. Whats your problem with your current car and why did you buy it?

Yup, if anything this car became less practical. With a smaller trunk/storage space and a weight gain.

Love the old man comments about the Vette.

5.0? You must be the fastest guy in the trailer park!

I do believe the age demographic will change but it'll be a small notch down. The median Corvette buyer is still in the 60's. Note, median. The average is coming down but not very quickly at all. The C8 might make it the biggest change but then again it's a matter of perspective too.

You realize that's like a $40,000 package right?
Lol. Might as well get a gt500 at that point.
A gt350 with a supercharger + supporting mods will bring the weight of the car to 39xx almost 4000lbs.
This gt500 was designed with a blower in mind. Carbon driveshaft, dct, 760hp which will be underrated given fords history with supercharged mustangs.

I hope it’s not the same ones on here buying EBs and running 87 because 93 is too expensive.
Az doesn't have 93 unfortunately. So I run 91. If I was gonna run 87 then I would have got a Prius lol

The thing is most people age 25-60 need or want more than 2 seats because they either have kids or envision themselves having kids somewhat soon and/or cant justify having a secondary 60k+ weekend fun car while saving for retirement. People below 25 usually cant afford a 60k car. I think thats why the demographic is retirement age, where they are set up financially and buy it as a non-daily driver and I think it may stay like that with the c8.

I would take that bet. The reason old men drive Corvettes. Is because they have the most disposable income. They are at a point in their lives where the mortgage is paid. The kids are out of the house. And they can finally afford luxury items. Like high priced sports cars. Young people are starting families and buying houses later than ever. So the money just wont be there for them. When the average cost of a house is 2-300 grand. And the median family of four income is 64 grand a year. I don't see the Corvette main age demographic changing.
Well we will see. Time will tell. I still think that this car is going to surprise a lot and a lot of people in my age range will jump on the c8 bandwagon and purchase.

+1^^^

One of my track buddies in his mid 20’s and a life long lover of S2000’s (not your typical Corvette buyer) is extremely interested in the C8. Was never interested in vette’s before but this new package has him enticed. It’s an amazing car for $60-$70k. Highly considering one in the future. Just like how the flat plane high revving 8 of the GT350 pulled people into the Mustang this mid-engine arrangement will pull buyers into the vette. We are living in the best time to be car enthusiast IMO.

I dunno, there is something kinda effete about the new vette. I could never take it down to the hardware store. Flat plane crank, stick shift; I'd still rather have the GT350, not that I can afford either...
