Wondering if the 5k difference is for carbon ceramic brakes?

It's becoming harder for me to believe that 2020 will be the last year of the 350/350R as some have speculated (including myself)...It does not seem like Ford would make a slew of updates for the 2019 350 and follow that up with (hopefully) 5k worth of updates for the 2020 R model then ax them both after 2020...I think it may live on...Anyhoo I am working on getting an order in on a 2020 regardless!
Not sure. I am betting that for 2021 they will INDEED make the 305 available (but WOW, the ENTIRE run of the S550 gen!? That is going to piss some early buyers off!) The other possibility is that for 2021 they discontinue and offer a manual in the GT500... But yeah, I also guess they make it for 2021 as well, which again, is too much :/ Even Rs will be all over the place.

But yeah, it DAMN WELL should have some updates!

I know the Aftermarket setup is 10K - so that could be, it's about that price range... But maybe a CF driveshaft or? Ether way, SOMETHING damn well worth the hike!

Will be interesting. The carbon ceramics were a 8K option I got on my GT4 back in 2016 so it would not surprise me at all. Makes perfect sense for this car.

Will see if I can have my salesman get any info from his rep

GT4 - jealous. I think I'll be happy with an R, a perfect mixed of street-drivable and race car... as I cannot really afford to separate the two further. I otherwise just hope whatever updates (?) they do perhaps doing, it justifies the cost. All I ask.

FUCK ME. AND THIS BETTER NOT BE THE CASE. It better NOT be the Digital Cluster! I'll shit myself - I hate the digital!!! An added reason I don't care for the GT500! :/ I LOVE the analog - so if that is the cause of the price hike, I'm defo out!

I know it's been border line ad nauseam - but where is the source they are infact changing / making changes to the R?
There was a magazine article that stated the GT350 got all the changes for the 2019 MY which is factual. It also stated that the GT350R will get it's changes in MY 2020. Ford has said that the 2020 MY GT350/350R/500 will be late availability so any changes may not be announced for a few months nobody knows.

Yup. I did read that article for sure. Obviously, like everyone, I hate waiting and I hate not knowing. So, patience will hopefully be a rewarded virtue here. My biggest nightmare is a) No changes at all. or b) Digital dash.

Anyways. #waitingtosee

On Monday, July 22 I ordered a 2020 GT350 Rapid Red, sport seats, tech pkg, CF instrument panel, handling pkg, park lamp curtains, quarter panel windows, hood louvers and price was $2k UNDER msrp! But, my 2012 GT Premium convert has been such a faithful, trustworthy friend for 221K miles I feel like a two-timing cad.

It seems like every year dealers over promise and mislead their customers about Shelby allocations. This year it looks like there is going to be a lot of disappointed buyers who have already been promised cars that are going to be hard to come by. This came out this morning on Blue Oval News thanks to Ice Capades always a reliable go to source.
"Dealers enrolled in the 2020MY Shelby sales program are being advised of their GT350 and GT500 allocation. Each Dealer will receive allocation for (1) 2020 Shelby GT350 & (1) 2020 Shelby GT500. Dealers with the standard Shelby allocation are prohibited from ordering the Carbon Fiber Track Pack and the Painted "Over-the-Top" Racing Stripes. Only Dealers with a high "Share of Nation" sales rate will be allowed to order vehicles with those options. The allocation and scheduling timetable and distribution is determined by the Ford regional offices. " I am sure dealers can buy allocations from other dealers to receive other cars but all at a cost which means higher prices for some of us.

I'm with you bud. On the flip side though I just purchased a 2019 R and am in the process of having it transported to me, but can't help hoping I don't regret it in case the apparent updates to the R-package are significant enough to make me feel dumb for pulling the trigger too soon.
