Yeh I know another thread but hang with me. Im looking for simple answers and even searching this forum brings up a lot of stuff I dont have time to filter through. So any help is appreciated and sorry for another tire/wheel size thread.

Thanks!

I do plan to stay staggered, unless someone has a truly compelling argument for a squared setup other than tire rotation because I dont care that much. I should probably mention it is unlikely my car ever sees a track, daily driver, 110 Miles a day. Im fine with the 255/275 setup but would consider 275 square (compelling reason) or 275/285 but dont want to negatively effect ride or mpg characteristics.

So whats interesting in the chart below is that the 275's on the GT PP1 are max for the 9.5 inch rear rim on the PP1, thought that was interesting. Anyway Im looking at 10" rims, or a 10 and 10.5 front and rear respectively. So I could stay with 255/275 if I wanted with the 10/10.5 but the 255 on a 10 seems borderline?

Would it be weird to go 10" on all four and still run 255/275?

How do you figure out the offset? I want things to be as stock as possible. Do I work with a vendor when purchasing my wheels for this?

I hit up this chart about tire sizes and wheel sizes and I am trying to figure out what I can do with my GT PP1. I'm looking at some Forgstar M14's or the the Volk Rays but trying to figure out wheel size vs tire size and offset. But for almost all the wheels I like I start at 10".

That table is a good estimate, but it will come down to the specific tire model. TireRack.com has specs for most of the tires you'd be interested in if you want to know what the actual tire manufacturer says their tire will fit on.

10/10.5 is a kind of a pointless stagger. You get none of the benefits and all of the downsides. Just go square 10" unless you're going 1" or more wider at the rear. There really isn't any downside to running a 285 square on a 10" as far as ride quality goes, and you'll get a lot better mileage out of your tires if you rotate once and a while, not to mention the added front end grip.

So its your ride. 10/10.5 is ok with something like a 275/295 or 275/305, but honestly I'd go 10/10 square or 10/11 staggered.

The one thing I prefer not to do is spacers.

I agree the 10/10.5 stagger is pointless. But I might stick with the 255/275 setup I have now. My discount tire guys say a 255 on 10” is just fine. But would it be weird to run 10” square but 255/275? Then again I could go 275 Square but I do not want to run spacers.

I wish the wheels I was looking into had a 9.5 wheel but only 10 and up.

Square 19x10 in an ET 35 or 40 is a perfectly good no-spacer option. Looks great on our cars.

Run the 255s up front for now, if they are MP4S they’ll be stretched a little but fit fine, switch to 275/40R19 (or better yet 285/35R19) next time you buy tires.

So the time of others is less valuable than yours? That is what you are implying. Go to performance sites and see what the offsets are that they are using. Then use those as your reference. Find the tire sizes you wish to run and see what the min/max rim width should be. Speak to a trusted tire center. That's how I developed my setup. I did not have someone do my work for me. There. Problem solved.
