When you push it on, you should hear a distinct click. If you do not, it will not stay.

Ok Im pretty sure it doesn't click in when I press it down. Ill check again in the morning. But my other question is, is this the PVC hose or a similar part ?

The first picture, the white slider on the piece that fits on the smaller tube is the latching mechanism. It is in the unlock position. if you push it in firmly, the slider will close with a click moving clockwise.

Ok. But is that tube the PVC hose? Is that what im looking at here. I understand the white ring is a locking mechanism

I don't think the white ring is locking in. From my understanding it would be easier to replace the whole hose than to just replace the ring. That's why Im trying to figure out if that smaller hose in all 3 pictures is the PVC hose

It is the PCV valve, but I do not know about replacing it. You would have to trace it to the other end and remove it to see the hose is part of the valve.

Are you thinking it might be hard to locate the other end ?

He's just saying if the end is defective, you have to replace the hose because they are one piece.

Im assuming you mean I have to replace the whole PVC hose since the ring is attached and cannot be purchased separately

Until you remove the hose, you do not know what are the issues. If the connector is bad, it has to be pulled anyway. If it is just full of crud, or something fixable, it should not be any issue to reinstall. The hose should be fairly short, with the same press on connectors at both ends. In the old days, they were just a ball check valve that was easy to test.

well I found out that the hose while it might resemble the pvc hose, its actually a tube assembly of some sort, I'm going to try to get it click in, the white ring, hopefully it will lock in like it's supposed to. some parts source claim this is a fuel pressure line of some sort , I don't really know.
