What's everyone running on their higher HP (700+ RWHP) builds? I'm going for a second set of wheels/tires and want to maximize traction as much as possible. The car is not a daily driver, so weather isn't really a concern. I want to maintain the good handling from the cup 2's I'm used to. I really like the Cup 2's.. what else is there?

When I was working with Vibe to build my wheels, we discussed a 19x12. Adjusting the offset so that you retain the same amount of "poke" to the outside (for lack of a better term), and thus figuratively adding that extra 1/2" all to the inside of the rim (if that helps give you a visual), they say it'll fit, but it's close. I decided against it, thus I don't know how wide of a tire you could actually go. I'm thinking 325/335 you're close to the limit on width.

Wider does not add traction taller will have more of a effect but obviously you are limited in either due to limited space.

Truth.

I mean in the corners obviously yes width to a point has an affect on lateral grip and compound of course will be the biggest factor. But as a prime and probably exaggerated example, look at top fuel tires.

I have 305/30/20-325/30/20 SC2's on 11-11.5" Signature 501's on my Whippled 17 GT350
I was happy with the amount of traction the SC2's had

Good post.

I would think that there's going to be a trade off between handling and straight line grip if you start going to a taller side wall. For the maximum straight line grip a smaller diameter rear wheel would help you to get more sidewall, but more sidewall will probably reduce cornering ability. It could also look odd because you won't be able to go to a smaller diameter front wheel - depends on what your priorities are.

The Blue car is on FP springs but its not an R
If I had it to do over again I would probably use the BMR springs
Why the BMR springs? Better spring rate, lower?

Thanks
