If you do it, start a thread here about it please. Lots of pics. I love 944s.
^ What he said.

I remember when the 944 first came out, Popular Mechanics did a write up on it. I thought it was one of the best looking new cars I had ever seen and just about wore out that issue reading the review over and over again.

The 944 is my reasonable dream car for an LS swap (might be risky posting this on a mustang forum!). There's a guy in my town that has one that is awesome.

944 as-is; it's a balanced driver but def a momentum car with stock power.

I'd love to have a 944 with an LS in it. My understanding is that an aluminum block LS is actually lighter than the 4 cylinder the car comes with. The only problem is the stock 944 transaxle probably won't hold up to the power if you push it.

Wow, I can't believe how tiny that thing is next to the Mustang....

It feels that much smaller when you are driving it too. The Mustang is a big brute that overpowers corners, whereas the Porsche feels effortless. I don't think I'll get to the track with the Porsche until next spring, but I'm looking forward to testing the limits more.

After the 944, I feel like I'm sitting way above the pavement in the Mustang as well. No wonder the 944 weighs 1,000 lbs less. And the Porsche is seriously overbuilt as you would expect. The body feels very rigid. It's just the size that gives it such a weight advantage.

One other thing is I'm a relatively large guy at 6' 4" but the ergonomics of the 944 are really good IMO. I fit with no problem at all, heel and toe is easy, etc.

That is mind blowing how much smaller that 944 looks.
That car also looks super clean - good find! You gotta take it to the next Radwood!

No Porsche 924 only the 944. I remember back in the day crawling around underneath a used one on display and marveling at the amount of rust even back then. I saw one for sale 2 months ago and was so rusted I would consider the thing a death trap.

If I had the cash the 928 was the best except for the water pump. Nostalgia can cloud the mind, I only buy new. One more performance car and that is a Vette just after the more expensive mid-engine arrives. I am through going to salvage yards for parts or walking to some abandoned Porsche deep in the grass and mud. But I even saw a couple of ditched Corvettes laying around this rich guy’s investment property slowly being parted out (by the way a hot young chick lives there and did some modeling for one of my acts - hot but lives in a dump...) so it happens to them all. Not for me!

But have fun with the car as that one looks solid...

I can't believe how great the body is for a 32 year old Minnesota car. It has a lot of dings and scratches, but it isn't rusty.

And it was super cheap. Awesome value, especially for a Porsche.

It definitely shows its age, though. The driver's seat is pretty rough, for instance.
