Fixed right there.

I don’t think Ford is focusing on straight line performance anymore.
The average consumer doesn't know or care about the difference. Like the old saying goes: horse power sells cars; and Dodge has been selling a boatload of Challengers lately compared to how they were a year or two ago. Ford is slacking in terms of performance. The GT350R is about a generation old now as far as performance and competition is concerned.

Horsepower alone sells inexpensive cars. People don't buy GT3 RS' because of horsepower.

I still hope they do a limited 2019MY run like the 2015 GT350 with full production in the 2020MY. Hopefully they're finding ways to keep weight down as a ton of power just isn't going to cut it anymore. A balance of lower weight and usable power is preferred.

Now that Dodge is pretty much owning the performance market, and the attention of those who buy such cars with things like this:

I think it's time Ford does SOMETHING!
I have to agree with @falcongtho3, let me just start by saying I am a Ford fanboy, always have been, but I do admire the way Dodges is currently marketing their performance vehicles (plural). If you were so inclined you could go to a Dodge dealership and have many performance vehicles options, you have 2 door coupe options, 4 door sedan options, scatpaks, 1320s, hellcats, red-eyes, (some with widebody options), performance suvs like the durango srts, jeep cherokee srts, jeep trackhawks and yes as all the following reply's will say, most if not all these vehicles are geared towards straight line performance but come on, how many of Ford performance vehicle customers are actually going to track (race track with actual turns) their vehicles? Back when the Demon was announced I thought why can't Ford provide a particularly optioned Mustang with the 5.0 with and without a supercharger, A10 auto and specific suspension and call it a CobraJet SC (Semi-Competition or something) with a VIN, one geared to take on the likes of the hellcats and demons and the other for blue collar middle class people that can't afford a GT350 or GT500, yes I know, the current 2018 with the A10 is capable of high 11s already but I think Ford could sell a boatload of Drag Packs IF they were offered, I know I'd Look at that as an option. JMHO

P.S. In 2007 I was all set to trade in my 04 Comp Orange Terminator on the AWD terminator powered Adrenalin that was confirmed it was green lighted by Ford, I mean after owning a 2000 Lightning then a 2004 Cobra and moving back into a performance pick-up with AWD and auto, well lets just say I was GREATLY disappointed that at the last minute it was canceled, really wish that one would have materialized.

4100lbs is about 700lbs too heavy.
Even the 460HP Corvette GS weights more than that....

The GT350R was the one that filled the spot for "Lightweight Mustang". 3900 would have been great for me but in my opinion 4100lb are not that bad either.

3400 out of a 2+2 coupe with its starting price isn’t even realistic! No way you see a sub 100k mustang at that weight. The GS is very close, I believe the 3LT trim weighs 3450ish. I’m actually thinking about picking up a GS and sending it to Katech and having them build there 700 hp 427 motor. That would be a hell of a car!

3800 for a blown 2+2 would be ideal. We'll see what they're able to get to. I'm guessing in the 3900-3950 range.
