Manual PP1 is the way to go with the GT. Would gladly be slower than the auto as long it’s a manual.

Seems off a little to me. I don't doubt 1/2 sec quicker in the 1320, but not sure I'm buying a full sec behind at 100 mph and making up 1/2 sec in that last 400-500 ft. I still think with a tune and tires, the M6 can be in the 11's. Hopefully, we'll soon find out.
The 0.9 second difference to 100 isn't that hard to imagine, given that the acceleration plot shows three upshifts taking about 0.3 second each. By comparison, there's barely a wiggle on the AT's acceleration curve.

Incidentally, on every MT upshift there's going to be a brief deceleration that probably doesn't get compensated for by sidestepping the clutch pedal in the hopes of getting a brief spike in acceleration on the finish of each shift. My guess - the MT is losing half a mph or so on every shift that has to be done over again in the next gear. A bigger mph drop at higher speeds where the greater aerodynamic resistance slows the car more in any given amount of time.

What MT is not showing is the distance it takes each of these cars to reach 100 mph. The MT car is going to be taking more distance to get to 100 (because its acceleration is consistently a little less), so once passing 100 mph it doesn't have as much further to go to the finish line as the AT car does. And a couple mph trap speed difference in the AT car's favor isn't going to change that around to the AT taking less time to go from wherever it hits 100 mph to the end of the quarter mile. It's hard to see this when all you have is the numbers because what you're trying to do amounts to performing integral calculus in your head.

I thought the manual did have 3.73's...according to the tech info anyway? Right?
If both cars had the PP, the stick car should have been rocking a 3.73 rear.

It keeps the rpm in the power band so much better being 10 speed.
More power more speed.

Precisely the reason why the camaro and it's 8 speed was so much quicker. I've averaged out the 15-17 M6 fast list and compared them to the 6th gen camaro. What I found was the 15-17 averages out to be about 0.25 seconds and 3 mph slower than the 16+ camaro. From what I've seen, the HP bump on the MY18 (or a tune and CAI on the 15-17) fills the gap. The main reason the MY16+ camaro (and Scatpack Charger) were so much quicker than the MY15-17 GT was their superior 8 speed auto. If the MY15-17 GT had the MY18 auto, you'd see a delta very similar to what the M6 has.

It does seem like people are reporting more '18 manual issues than 15-17. Or is that not the case?

Technology will always improve. Man has already hit his limit of performance. If you wanna go fast and be consistant. Get the Automatic. If you don't care about a couple 10ths. Get what you want.
Tweaked a little. Whether improvements in technology are always better (in all respects, including subjectively) is open to question. Personally, I don't even care about whole seconds here.

Out of curiosity, I did carry the MT numbers out a little - and going from a 1 second difference to 100 mph to only an 0.5 second difference in ET is entirely reasonable. When the AT car hits 100 mph, it does so about 80 feet sooner than the MT car takes to hit its 100 mph speed. Meaning that the AT car actually has 80 feet further to go from its 100 mph position to the timing line. At about 160 ft/sec average speed (between 100 mph and trap speed), that's going to take . . . right around 0.5 second.

The 20+ hp manual trans only $46,595 Bullitt is clearly not going to be enough to match the acceleration of a base $37,695 GT with the A10.

Ouch.

Gotta be. I'd guess a standard GT wouldn't get much past .85 or so. Plus the weight being so similar.

I can't imagine having the power, without the control. Gotta do at least PP1 on these cars.
You need to try harder....

I have now owned both. 15 GT M6 and now the 18GT A10.

I do not miss the 15 M6.

I have been a manual guy my whole life.

With my Classic Muscle cars I always preferred a manual over an auto and followed that line when I bought a 6 speed manual SS Camaro in 2010, then the 2011 Mustang 5.0 came out and I read great things about the 6R80 and bought one. it was fast and fun(mid 12's bone stock) I figured hell if the auto is this fast and fun the 2013 track pack with 6 speed manual should be a friggin blast so I bought one. I hated the MT82 and traded it in for a 2013 GT with A6 after less than 4000 miles and 10 months of owning it. my preference for manual transmissions is definitely a thing of the past. these new auto's are great.
