Now my dealer says ETA of 30/06 - not the first ship but not August.
Any chance yours may be earlier, Peter
I think my ETA is towards end of July when i spoke to my dealer last.

Well it would be nice Bob but it was Ford Aust. that has been giving me the information. Nothing coming from the dealer.

Some news:

FA is sticking to the “ask us again in a month” line.

Dealer says mine arrives BNE dock on the 6th June.

Dealer is still uncertain about actual delivery date.

Unsure whether FA will stick to publicised July release date or release it to us ASAP.

Received my 2019 contract today. Does the stock number have any significance? I.e can I search on it?

Seems that way. When is your 18 due?
Not going 18/19 at this stage - depending on Ford's response to the oil cooler/aircon issues (which I expect to be zero).

This car could be a huge liability once the warranty expires (I have little faith in ACL when it comes to the automotive industry).

Damn shame, I love everything else about it.

Yeah, that's why I've sold my 17 and buying an 18

Hi gmit. The first number you need is the NSC which your dealer will provide. It will be something like Q8JR. Once you have that you can message Shahni on Ford Aust. facebook to get the VIN and any other available detail.

I received my “built” email from Ford yesterday. Does that make it a 2018 or my2019?

I don’t know why people keep asking if their car will be an 18 or 19 model. If it’s actually built before about 11 June, then it will be an 18. 2019 models start being built then.

I asked my dealer if the 18 has the same parts as the previous models,
(eg oil cooler, aircon, ect) and what happens if we have the same issues,
as some of the other owners are having with thiers after the warranty has run out.

Well the dealer said the he knew about the issues, and seemed a bit suprised
when i brought it up. So i asked if i have the same issues and if the car has run out of warranty, as it is a known fault would it be repaired by FORD at no expense to me, or would I have to pay for the repairs myself.

The answer i got was? !!! IT CAN GET VERY EXPENSIVE !!!,!!! IT CAN GET VERY EXPENSIVE !!!,!!! IT CAN GET VERY EXPENSIVE !!!

So here's hoping we don't get these issues and all is good.:hail:

This is just the kind of crap that I expect going forward.

The first Australian cars start running out of warranty in December, so I guess we'll know soon afterwards what Ford's position will be.

Given their apparent head in the sand position thus far and their demonstrated behaviour with the Focus debacle, I have zero confidence that they will be standing behind us or our Mustangs.

Would be happy to be proven wrong.

Found this (admittedly dated) article relating to the ACL with respect to motor vehicles:

https://www.caradvice.com.au/345004/what-is-the-australian-consumer-law-is-my-car-still-covered-outside-of-the-manufacturer-warranty/

So, for example, if you bought a new car yesterday and in four years time the engine fails and will no longer start, so long as the vehicle wasn’t used abnormally, it would be considered a major failure, despite being outside of the manufacturer warranty.

This would be nice if FORD stood bye there product,
or any car manufacturer for that matter.
It would be nice to look at my Mustang and give it a THUMBS UP and get that feeling you bought something AWESOME:headbang: Instead of thinking in the back of your mind if they will STAND BEHIND THERE PRODUCT if any PREVIOUS issues arise after the warranty period expires.
But at the end of the day the Mustang still sucked me in,i still signed my contract and i have a massive :D on my face and i hope it stays that way.
