Ford Motor Co. announced a new senior leadership team Thursday morning, led by Kumar Galhotra, who moves over from heading Lincoln to replace Raj Nair as Ford North America presidentDon't worry, we still have Dave Peric.... oh wait..
Yes, thats where I heard it too. If there is a 2019, which I'm fairly certain there will be, that means the GT500 won't come until around june Calendar year 2019 as a 2020 MY.A post on ******************* Monday came from Flatrock stating "As of now we will be building a 2019 MY GT350/R" "Delay on GT500 will not launch until 2020"
Dont know if its true, just passing it along.
This is all really starting to kill my interest. By then ME vette will be available and who knows what else.Yes, thats where I heard it too. If there is a 2019, which I'm fairly certain there will be, that means the GT500 won't come until around june Calendar year 2019 as a 2020 MY.
I agree. Ford seems to be out of sync with this market. GT500 should have been co-developed alongside the GT350. GT350 should have had it's 2.5 year lifespan and we should currently be in year 1 of GT500.This is all really starting to kill my interest. By then ME vette will be available and who knows what else.
If this is truly the case it gives me time to gather more funds and purchase new. What they should do to drum up interest is add an auto option in it's final year and see what happens.Yes, thats where I heard it too. If you put regular Radial tires on the Demon (Let's say Pirelli P Zero's like the ones in the hellcat WB), with the "street" set up (808HP)... Well.. in that case the GT500 may be a good competitor for the Demon.2020 GT500 won't be as fast as a demon in a straight line....
Right, but by releasing the GT500 so late by the time it hits the streets there "may" be other cars that are faster in a straight line and around a track. Had we been in year 1 right now it would probably be the best option.Anyway, the GT500 was never intended to be put against the Demon because it's not a one trick pony like that SRT.
The delay is only for one year, the original date was 2019MY and MAYBE now it will be 2020MY. They wanted to leave the "halo spot" to the GT350 for a while.Yeah, I'm REALLY curious as to what the hell is going on inside Ford Performance that they had to delay this car 2-3 YEARS! This is just unheard of, I've never seen a manufacturer have this much trouble pushing out a single variant of a car

I'm thinking the same thing. A small batch of 2019MY and then a full run of 2020MY.I'm not sure about that. Both main mustang forums initially posted forum subheadings 2018MY GT500. Then it was moved to 2019, but I'd probably guess they are going to change that again here shortly, and if it isn't, there may just be a 2019 MY GT500, but a small run. Possibly a few hundred made between march and 2020 MY change over? Who knows but you can sure bet that would be a tough one to get, in fact even the first half of 2020MY will be tough to get one.
