Mustangs are a great platform for those who want to "mod" them.

Keeping mine stock though. Paid cash for it, and not much at that...

My feeling is; mods must have an actual purpose, otherwise they're just bling. My '17 will never be on a race track, so adding speed potential is a waste of time & money. We rarely do car club type events, so I don't need to impress anyone with my custom carbon fiber muffler bearings.

I would rather put that money and effort into our race cars or buying another vintage sports car.

But I love seeing all the stuff the others guys do to theirs... :headbang:

basically stock, with a few choice improvements.

Ordered Jan.2018:
Ford Perf PP1
GT350R Strut Tower Brace
Ford Perf oil catch can
Ford Racing hood struts
BMW CB005 + Steeda alignment kit
Steeda jacking rails
Ford Perf GT350 half shafts

I will also order a Barton 2 post shifter bracket and a cue ball shift knob.

I consider this basically stock and will likely stay like that for a few years.

Racing hood struts & a cue ball shift knob. Now those are easily good for two seconds a lap right there!

:headbang: low 11s on this setup, guaranteed.

Oh, I also plan on getting a GT350 steering wheel, eventually.

Mine will never see a track day in it's life.... It's a GT and I'm taking the Grand Tourer concept literally.

I have done a few mods, but nothing insane.

Added the Performance Pack front end Bracing
Added Hood struts
Added White Over-the-top Stripes (I had to)
Adding the Silver Performance Pack wheels when I can afford tires for them

I might do the Street Pack suspension if it's still available in a year or so but other than that, I'm pretty pleased with the car as it is and don't really see the need to make it any more of a headache than it already is!

Wow! Guess I'll have to save up for those genuine racing hood struts. :D

Only buy the Ford racing ones, the others claim 10 HP, but the Ford Racing deliver a true 10 RWHP ;)

Sorry to hear your car is headache, that doesn’t sound so fun. (What’s the headache about???)

Like you I consider my GT to be a very good grand tourer competitive with most import coupes. Prior to model year 2015 I had no interest in Mustang ownership in last 15 years.

Meh, shit just gets old sometimes. Like every punk-ass who thinks his BR-Z is hot will rev up his soda bottle next to me at a red light. I had some jerk in an old Chevy truck do a burnout right beside me at a red light. Not kidding - full on burnout in the middle of town.

Don't get me wrong, I love my car! It's the idiots of the world that are trying to kill my buzz. hehe

Mine is used as a daily driver so I'm keeping it mostly stock.

I get that all the time in both my 911 & Mustang. The worst are fellow Mustang drivers who pull alongside, rev their engines and expect me to race. Seems to drive them crazy when I don't take the bait...

Mine's only as stock as my wallet allows.

You know what? Ford cheaped out by not using struts. It's kind of embarrassing having to use the stock rod. I guess they could have included a 2x4 instead.
Any way, nothing I have done will affect the warranty, so it's basically stock.

Function over feature for a change . . .

The prop rod is a lighter-weight solution than two gas-pressure struts that sometimes leak down. Plus it's likely to have allowed a slightly lighter-weight hood (since almost none of the hood is cantilevered out past it like there is with struts) which as a further consequence provided some benefit in frontal crash performance.
