...will be released a week from now on October 3rd. It will be interesting to see where things fall. I expect slow volumes myself, as compared to previous months.

It's never too soon to discuss the Mustang's dominance.

Holy Christ, I can't believe this is starting already. We'll be at 5 or 6 pages before we even find out the sales number's.

That being said, I'll be surprised if Mustang shows it's typical dominance since Chevy started the big discounts on the in stock 2016's, and then added the extra $2K for current Mustang owners. We'll find out in a week.

Ford Performance is expected to sell 200,000 performance vehicles in 2016.

That is 200,000 HALO Fords a year.

That is pretty amazing, three times the amount from last year.

I think Mustang will continue it's lead but the industry is down as a whole. The fire sale on 2016 camaro will help there sales to not drop as much but it still won't catch Mustang. :ford:

I think it will be at... 89,000 give or take a couple of hundred. For the year of course. :) Probably flat from August, so around 8300.

Cars.com update:

Mustang: 13,6xx

Camaro: 29,3xx

Ford letting the 2016-'17 supply dwindle could signal for a refresh in 2018. It could also be anticipation for the worst Winter Sales streak since the products release in late 2014. We will get a better idea come December judging the "In Stock" numbers on Cars.com. Not all dealers use it but it is a good yard stick.

The Camaro has built up an additional 500 cars since last Wednesday. They are nearing 30,000 in stock and the MSRP is being reduced.

thePill can honestly tell you that this wasn't part of the plan :(

Election years are often a little tumultuous for the economy. They may be planning for that.

I wonder how the large backlogs for Mustangs ordered overseas is playing into Fords thinking. It is springtime in Aus and NZ now and never ending summer in a lot of other places.

I wish we had monthly Mustang shipment data for at least the different oversea regions. Just think of how many more conversations we could have to fill forum threads and to hassle Camaro fans with.

The MY18 refresh was confirmed today John.

thePill spoke to someone about a week or two ago that drew attention to the dwindling supply. She hinted that it was indeed a sign a refresh was coming.

I was assured the 2017 overseas orders would be caught up pretty quick now since US sales have relaxed.

I hear the 2018-2021 is a huge draw in the styling department.

This is talking about performance car sales in general but also talks about camaro sales

http://gmauthority.com/blog/2016/09...reach-record-number-is-chevrolet-missing-out/

Over 200,000 sales of Ford performance vehicles are projected globally for 2016, and the 2017 Shelby GT350 and GT350R are sold out well into the 2017 model year. Meanwhile, sixth-generation Camaro sales, bluntly, continue to tank despite rising profit margins.

Is it possible Chevrolet put too many performance-oriented eggs in one basket? After all, the brand banked on a turbocharged four-cylinder Camaro to court the “fast and furious crowd.” So far, that hasn’t exactly been the case

Another ass kicking for the camaro. lol
and plenty more "butt hurt" from the few who thought Camaro sales would be through the roof this year. ;)
