2015 Mustang GT PP (Gone but not forgotten).
Well...looks like I blew out the tranny..:(
Me and a Camaro were having a conversation. 2nd to 3rd shift and car hit limiter and clunking from tranny. Wrench light came on and code was P0780.
Car still moves under own power, no clunk if in Neutral or clutch in. Can push car and no noise, but if load on it clunks in a rotational type noise. Crawled under to make sure it wast a rear end or half shaft...no luck. Guess time to pull and replace.

Any other boosted manual cars take one out? Did you replace with same , upgrade with parts (does anyone make a stronger MT82?) or go Tremac?

I'd get a fluid sample from the rear diff and transmission fluid. Had a very similar concern on another customer car and it ended up being the differential gears coming apart.

Yea kind of sounds like diff to me.

Diff would be cheaper than a trans for sure.

If needed, I have a 5k mile MT82 that's in perfect condition. Took it out to replace with a Tremec and I'd sell it at a fair price.

Well hopefully it is a rear....was going to move to a lower gear anyway, now would be the time.

isedawishy - Will be very interested in yours if it does end up being tranny. What all had to change to put the Tremec in? Clutch, PP, driveshaft?

Don't blame you, am not a fan of the PP gearing. If you do that, check into that thread talking about that tool where you can change settings for cheap. Definitely an alternative to the Whipple tool.

Clutch, flywheel, driveshaft, speed sensor converter and tune refresh on the swap.

Welcome to the club! I blew up 6th having a long "conversation" lol I pulled the MT-82 and put in a Magnum.

Sounds like 3rd shredded it self. I highly doubt you broke the rear end. What clutch are you running?
