Has any of you replaced the OEM paper thin air filter element with a longer lasting high flow K&N ?

Was told that 10-13 Shelby GT500 K&N filter fits 2015-16 Shelby GT350.

Wow..... out of the 103 people that read this thread, no one has replaced the OEM filter. Maybe it is that good .

Saw my friend's GT 350 last night and thought that the air filter element looked very cheap. I'll report back when i change mine.

I just contacted K&N this AM and was told that a replacement isn't available yet. I'm on the email list to be notified when they become available. IIRC didn't the MT dyno video show the car with a K&N filter during the test?

Just can't get enuff!
Yes, the 2010-2014 GT500 and 2015-2016 GT350 share the same air filter. I have just confirmed this, photos attached. We have these filters in stock in Red, Blue and Black in oiled and non-oiled by Airaid.

let us know if you guys have any questions.

Thanks
So which one would you recommend? Especiially for track (road course) use for me? Oil or non-oiled? And I presume no tune is necessary and using either will not adversely effect or throw DTC's on the new GT350?

Doesn't matter, just depends on how you want to service the filter. The oiled filters require you to clean and then re-oil. Dry filters just require cleaning. The color of the dry filters does tend to fade over time while the oiled filters will look like new after adding oil. Correct, no tune required.

Cool so no need to wait for the K&N filter as what they'll probably do is just use the existing GT500 filter and advertise it with a different part number.

Thanks for chiming in Dereck, never thought of getting a Airaid filter. Can i get my Airraid filter in Magnetic .:)

From past experience (2 stroke MX bikes and ATVs) the oiled filter is better for dusty environments, but you have to oil them properly i.e. follow the directions. It's very easy to over oil them. There used to be a spray on oil for this application that was a little more forgiving. I would think for normal street use the dry filter would be preferred.

Yes, you for sure need to follow the instructions in when you service oiled filters as if you over saturate the filter media, that excess oil can make it's way to the MAF sensor, clog it and cause driveability issues. You have to really over saturate for that to happen, but it's happened before so following instructions is a must, as always.

I can confirm that the same K&N air filter that fits the recent GT500's also fits the 2016 GT350. It's exactly the same.
K&N part number is E1993. AutoZone and Advanced Auto stores near me did not stock. But the Pep Boys store did have them in stock: $54.99
