2015 Mustang Engine Lineup and Power Figures Revealed by Ford Survey

A recent Morpace survey (full survey inside) on car options has been commissioned by Ford that seeks feedback on an engine lineup that includes:

  • 3.8L V6 Engine (300 Horsepower/290 ft-lb torque and Fuel Economy: 19 MPG City/29 Highway MPG) (Standard Equipment – $0)
  • 2.4L I4 GTDI Engine (310 Horsepower/310 ft-kb of torque and Fuel Economy: 22 MPG City/32 MPG Highway) $560
  • 4.9L V8 Engine (430 Horsepower/396ft-lb of torque and Fuel Economy: 18 MPG City/28 Highway MPG) $1,890

Inside sources have informed Mustang6G that this survey in fact accurately reveals the 3 engine lineup and near-exact specifications that we will see for the 2015 Mustang.  While displacement figures have been intentionally (if very obviously so) obscured – we have our first preview of the specifications for the 3.7L V6, 2.3L I4, and 5.0L V8 engines for 2015 model year.

Other details about the base model include 6-speed manual transmission, independent rear suspension, remote keyless entry, push button start, and possible pricing of $23,995 with standard equipment which would represent a $1,795 increase over the 2014 base model.  The next-generation Mustang also looks to gain a host of new technology and options, including memory seats, heated/cooled seats, heads up display (HUD), lane departure warning, and 20″ wheels option.

With the 2015 Mustang set to be revealed before the end of the year, exciting details about Ford’s 50th Anniversary Mustang will continue to be firmed up.  Stay tuned!
