2019 GT350 Upgrades: Aerodynamics, Tech and Other GT500 Track Improvements

The 2019 Shelby GT350 Mustang will not only live on at least another model year but it’s also going to delivery faster lap times and better performance on both street and track, thanks to technology and parts that it will share with the upcoming 2020 Shelby GT500.

The 2019 GT350 upgrades include improved aerodynamics with a new spoiler that will help to reduce drag and add downforce with a new available Gurney flap installed. New custom Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires and improved chassis and antilock brake tuning will combine to provide for dramatically better grip and overall handling.

The GT350 benefits from Ford Performance Mustang road course racing experience and Shelby GT500 aerodynamic advancements, plus hundreds of hours of on-track and full vehicle simulations with Billy Johnson, Ford GT World Endurance driver, helping to dial in the final performance tuning.

As we reported early today, new colors for the 2019 GT350 include a first-ever Ford Performance Blue and Velocity Blue. Optional factory-painted over-the-top racing stripes are available in high-gloss Shadow Black, Oxford White or Kona Blue. Mirror-mounted Shelby Cobra Projection Lamps come standard in the available Technology Package.
