2017 Mustang Safety Recall on Airbag Inflators

Ford is issuing a safety recall for certain 2017 Mustangs concerning the abnormal deployment of ARC passenger airbag inflators, discovered during testing conducted at Takata’s engineering facility.

The recall affects some 935 2017 Mustang (and F-150 vehicles) built at Flat Rock Assembly Plant between July 20, 2017 and August 1, 2017.

In the affected vehicles, the ARC inflator may rupture during a front passenger airbag deployment resulting from a crash which may result in metal fragments striking vehicle occupants and causing serious injury and death.
