The 2018 Mustang GT’s optional active exhaust system lets you select the soundtrack of your V8 engine with the help of adjustable valves that open and close based on the exhaust mode setting and throttle.
While most Mustang6G members will use it to tune their Mustang GT to Sport or Track mode, Ford has built in a stealthy new mode that will be appreciated by many Mustang owners and their neighbors.
The new “Quiet Mode” setting not only limits the GT’s sound to just 72 decibels at startup compared to the more than 80 decibels pumped out by Track Mode, but the active exhaust system’s on board settings also lets you schedule the time and day when you want your Mustang GT to scream or whisper.
