TST Episode: 2015 Mustang GT Track Build

A few months ago Mustang6G member kkakonn (Michael) met up with host Matt Farah of The Smoking Tire who did a driving review of his 2015 Mustang GT track build which has been featured in the show’s latest episode.

Regular visitors of the forums will instantly recognize Michael’s (previously) Avery Gloss Intense Blue vinyl-wrapped Mustang GT which sports a large AP Racing GTC-250 carbon fiber wing. But it’s what is under the body that really sets this S550 apart.

The AP Racing Radi-CAL Big Brake Kit along with a bunch of BMR Suspension upgrades such as the CB005 cradle bushings, TCA045 rear lower control arms, and SB043 front/rear sway bars thoroughly impressed Farah as the two cruised along the Angeles Crest Highway overlooking the San Gabriel Mountains of Southern California.

“We like this track-ready Mustang GT a lot, for obvious reasons – brakes, suspension, chassis, then power. It is frankly amazing how much faster you can go in this car than you could go in a standard Mustang GT, even with a completely stock powertrain. It’s planted, predictable, and very, very rewarding to drive quickly,” wrote Farah.
