This is going to be a great ride. If interested, check out the details on farcebook.

Sounds like fun. Need it after the winter. Unable to make this as I have another commitment. Keep me updated on subsequent rides.

One of the guys proposed at the hairpin turn on the way back home. My laptop email is on the fritz so thesee pics will have to do for now.
My friend drives his SS all over the country and he has to be in his 80s. He flies on these roads and knew them all from many trips through the mountains.
Those tiny tail lights disappeared more than once in the cloud ar the summit.

Damn, I love taking the Mohawk Trail! The ride from Shelburne to North Adams is fantastic.

Ahhh missed this and it's actually my neck of the woods. I'm surprised they just did a u-turn in North Adams, I personally would have suggested continuing on Rt 2 all the way to Petersburg, NY and enjoy the mountain pass there. You could then turn around and go back to north Adams via Mount Greylock, that is a special drive... unfortunately not open when this event took place.

Hope they run this one again. A very scenic area and fun to drive.

I am going to suggest having it a bit later so there will be no roads closed. When I hit Lebanon Valley my drive is going to be very scenic.

I have been wanting to get to Mount Greylock for years now.

I think a few of the roads are washed away/closed after the recent flooding. Maybe they are open now, not sure.
RT 2 was closed along the river between Orange and Gill not long ago.

View from the Adams overlook, about 1/4 mile from the top...

As a side note, I have rode bicycles up there many times, including winter. The ride back down, hands off the brakes (except for the switchbacks mostly) is beyond exhilarating!

Same location, looking up road instead of the view.
