Ford catalytic converters are warranty for 8 years/80k miles. Both of mine were replaced yesterday...the mechanic broke the oxygen sensor and now awaiting the part....Supposed to arrive tomorrow.
Not just Ford cats. ALL catalytic converters are covered 8 years/ 80k miles. It's Federal law.

Once your 3/36 from Roush is done there is no other coverage available. If you buy a Ford ESP it will not cover anything powertrain related. Your cats are covered regardless for 8 years.
Just spoke w ESP service contract specialist over at Granger and she stated YES the car is able to be warrantied just as long as the FORD certified dealer installed the ROUSH blower and
"As long as you purchase ESP before your vehicle hits 41 months and under 40,999 miles yes you can still purchase an esp warranty for your vehicle and powertrain is covered."
Hope this helps other Roush guys!!!
Anthony

P.S. I will be buying an ESP warranty from Granger soon.

I called Ford protect plan help today and got the real deal sad news. Once Roush cars expire there 3/36,000 warranty ends there is no more coverage period and end of story. Ford will not allow anyone w roush blowers installed at dealers to purchase there Ford ESP extended warranty. If your car had a supercharger installed at a Ford roush certified dealer it's all bullshit. Ford only covers cars like Shelbys gt500s or shelby F150s w blowers that were built at Ford factory, not at a Ford dealer.

Anthony

P.S. Ford rep also stated cats are not covered under ESP Warranty. Only bumper to bumper 3/36,000. My guess, since federal law mandates 8 year 80,000 mile coverage, maybe dealer gets paid from federal govt hence reason ESP won't cover.. it seems like a big secret..wtf!!

So if my roush 3/36,000 mile warranty ends and my cat blows, it's covered free? We prb pay labor, but part will be free. Whatcha think?
Thanks Anthony

So if a cat goes bad after 3/36,000 warranty, what's the protocol? Bring to dealer and they replace, part free.. but labor to remove and install?
Thanks Anthony

I can't say, I've never had one fail within the warranty period.
I will say that the catalytic converter is the expensive part. Ford's price for the one on my EB was $1600. R&R took about an hour on jackstands in my garage so I can't see labor being that big of a deal. I don't know what is involved for the V8...

Thanks for reply. What year is yiur car? I'm guessing if it was within the 8/80,000 mile warranty shouldn't it have been covered if u went to a dealer?
They are super expensive.. sadly. Yeah, v8 is a huge pita!! W cats, like a 12 hour job to replace both. Sadly.

Mine is an '18 but it's been my DD since 07/19. Sadly the cat failed around 83k.

Hey, ohhhh ok. Damn, u missed it by 3k miles, that sucks. Ya know what sucks, Dealers make a big deal about roush blowers and being installed within a certified Ford roush dealer for warranty.
Yet, ford won't allow me to buy esp warranty for car because blower wasn't installed at Ford factory, and at dealer. Same shit to me as it's ford... they make a big deal about that. Yet won't sell me Esp. They suck, and now on top if that, I lose 5 year 60,000 coverage. If I knew that in beginning, I wouldn't of ever wasted my money or time w Roush and would've bought a GT500.

My cat was replaced this week by Ford and it was listed as warranty and didn't cost me at all.
