Noticed this little gem from the owner's manual

Note:
Do not clean the housing or glass of
any mirror with harsh abrasives, fuel or other
petroleum or ammonia-based cleaning
products.
Windex, and almost every other glass cleaner has ammonia. What do you folks use?

Thanks

I use a microfiber towel to polish all glass and remove residue.

Another thing that works well is wadded up newspaper. It removed all oils from the glass and leaves it very clean.

There are non ammonia based glass cleaners out there.

Wash them when you wash the car and wax the glass with the same wax you wax your car with. I wax the side and rear glass as well. Makes it crystal clear and it stays clean because it's waxed. Waxes contain petroleum based products but so doesn't the spray coming off the road when you drive the car in the rain.

I don't think any automotive glass cleaner has ammonia in it. At least not any that I would trust.

Ammonia=bad for paint (wax really) and a definite no no on the insides of tinted windows. And sprays are very easy to mist elsewhere even trying to be careful.

Better practice to NEVER use ammonia based cleaners on your car interior or exterior. Save those for your house.

Invisible glass says it's streak free. But after using it, along with a repeated application, I still see streaks on the glass in bright sunlight. It leaves a residue just like the cheap glass cleaners. I have been using a white (distilled) vinegar solution (50% distilled water). Very cheap and wipes off well with a microfiber cloth.

Rain X glass cleaner here and it leaves out nice and clean. Also does a hell of a job when it rains and I almost don't even have to use wipers.

I switched to Meguiars D120 glass cleaner concentrate when I used my last case of Invisible Glass. It is ammonia free and comes in a 1 gallon bottle that makes 11 gallons of glass cleaner.

All Glass

My wife has a gloss black piano that picks up fingerprints like nothing I've ever witnessed. The "piano people" who sold it to us recommended the product shown below. It works wonders on the piano and is great on car windows, too. It comes out as a foam and wipes away quickly. I've used rainx, but prefer this by miles and miles. I've never had such clean glass, great stuff.
