I got down to 15 miles to empty on the M56 yesterday and discovered a completely new lane on the motorway……the inside one!
Refueling brought matters back to normal.

In Canada 🇨🇦 it cost me last summer anywhere from $1.80 - $2.05 per liter to fill up. That is with 94 octane (up to 10% ethanol in gas)

Considering the exchange rate that is about £1.04 to £1.20 / litre. I think we would jump at that!

Not really. The exchange rate doesn't mean the currency is weak or strong per se, just that differences have happened, sometimes decades ago. Oil is priced in $US so the difference between Canada and the UK is simply down to the tax rate, as the raw fuel price is about the same once converted.

UK pound to Canadian dollar is about the same now as it was in the 1980's so in general terms nothing has changed

Ya I realize our dollar is low compared to other countries, so they can buy Canadian resources at bargain prices. This helps some in Canada but not the majority.
