Here is the 2018 10 speed auto gas mileage

Against my 2017 GT with auto, its only 1 mpg better in city, highway and combined. I thought it would have been better than that with the 10 speed auto.

Not a shocker at all. What did you expect? 30 mpg out of a V8? Don't kid yourself. The coyote is definitely a good motor, but it is thirsty. You could throw in any transmission and still get the same mpg numbers.

Considering the car is now making +25 more HP, most likely picked up a little more weight, i'd say not too bad. Manuals should pick up a few more MPG. That price on the other hand... can't say I never imagined a regular Mustang GT being in the 50's.

This. You could have extrapolated the numbers yourself by looking at the MY18 F150 which also has the 10 speed. Those only went up about 1/1/1 also.

Interesting that the A10 equipped PP gets a 3.55 Torsen. MT82 cars get the 3.73.

You can only lug an engine so much before it becomes undrivable.
That direct injection helps but ford is too conservative on the compression. Must DI engines run 13-14:1 compression.

This.

That sticker price shocked me more than the gas mileage.

autos have torque multiplication already, 3.73 in an auto would be very aggressive

current GT Premium MSRP for $37. 37->39 is a modest increase. That includes more power.

this window sticker lists $13k of options. Which you may or may not need.

Corvette hits 29 with outdated engine tech, so kinda. Maybe 28 due to weight difference and aero. My 2013 hit 25, granted no one buys these for mileage but still u would think there would be an improvement over 5 years.

I think Corvette uses cylinder deactivation, and its lighter, geared taller, and more aerodynamic.

Lots of new tech on this car. The instrument cluster has the 12" LCD in lieu of gauges, and the 401A pkg with the upgraded interior, as well as NAV. To lower the price, if you are not racing it, delete the PP (- $3995.) and the Magni-Ride ($1695) to bring it into a more affordable configuration, with a price of $47470.
