MotoIQ.com just tested the brand new Continental ExtremeContact SPORT -which debut earlier this month:

“Same level dry performance as a Michelin Pilot Super Sport”. That is a HUGE statement by Continental when the PSS is hands down the segment leading benchmark. Continental is extremely proud of their brand new ExtremeContact™ Sport tire that was just released earlier this month as a replacement for their ExtremeContact™ DW tire. We logged nearly a thousand miles on the new Sport in both the wet and dry, and put it up against the outgoing DW in a back to back test at Palm Beach International Raceway to see if it lives up to Continental’s claims.

In the article:

-In-depth analysis of the new (from the ground up) ExtremeContact Sport.
-Street review in the dry and wet.
-Track Test at Palm Beach International Raceway.
-Motec Data overlays back to back testing the Sport with the outgoing DW.
-Subjective Handling reviews.
-Deciphering Continental's product lineup.

Very nice review! I'm going to give these tires a shot in the next few weeks when I'm due for a tire change. Thanks for the post!

PS4 S being a mild upgrade over PSS, then ECS being nearly equal to PSS. ECS being 30% cheaper than PS4 S. Maybe ECS is the tire to get now especially with the 60 day Total Confidence Plan and 12 months of road hazard.

I think you are right. I had finally decided to get the PS4S but I checked tire rack to compare prices and I'll be ordering these in a couple weeks. It is a substantial difference that makes these too hard to pass on.

Just might be my next set.
Sooner than I'd hoped as well.

Not anymore, he had to upgrade to Platinum driver status and has moved up to the Ford GT, that runs Michelins.

Fingers crossed for GT350/GT350R sizes. We really need some options for the GT350.

Happy about this review. I have the Extreme Contact DW and I love them, will probably replace with the ECS when that time comes :clap2:

I put these on my GTPP Monday afternoon. 285/35/20 up front and 305/35/20 out back.

These tires are the real deal. They hook like a drag radial. When mashing the gas at 4K, I get zero wheel spin. They just stick and the just pulls. Wet performance is amazing. Turn-in is instantaneous and sharp. Dry handling is superb.
