Doing 2015 Ford Mustang Door Panels (have a prototype there)

"Last week, for a school trip we went down to Weber Tool.

They make the molds for various things. OF WHICH they had made the molds for;

SRT Viper hood
C7 Hood and roof
Almost the whole Aston Martin Vantage exterior
LaFerrari Fenders
Rolls Royce Shadow Hood
Challenger Dash
Focus Dash
2015 Ford Mustang Door Panels (of which they had a prototype )"

That beats the school trips we used to have.... tell me those lucky kids got to see part of the prototype. I'll take even a door panel right now with how little we've seen.

it was just a prototype, It just had a leather wrap on it (to get the grooves right for the injection molding process)

It was plain black, but its different from the current one, but not too much. My initial thought was "damn thats bland" but then I thought about it a bit and decided it wasn't going to look like that as a final product.

Remember that its still a ways away from the final look...or at least I would think.

I wouldn't count on any of these suppliers having seen the actual car and certainly not in its entirety - at most bits and pieces.

I've heard even those that work closely on the car have not been allowed to see what is under the camo beyond what is absolutely necessary for the work they are performing. Tight security.

Sounds like some old school Oxcart Area 51 stuff!

Door panels are nicer, but nothing radical.

The mold for the SRT Viper is made by Plasan Carbon Composites....

I'm nowhere close to ON but I know Weber Mfg has made CF layup tools for some Mustang hoods.

Looks like high end materials are being used.

Nice fit and finish as well. :ford:
