While I'm hopeful that it will be higher, like 475, I'm doubtful.

Honestly I'd rather they took out 75-100 pounds than add any more power. Either way, I will be happy, the engine makes plenty of power and I doubt I'll feel the difference between 455 and 475.

475 Hp / 455 Tq

The thing is, that same image also shows 470, so who knows

470 could be a special edition such as the Bullit.

Yeah I guess you're right. The RPM is at 470. I hope the special edition thing is right, but I really hope that it's another Boss 302 over a Bullitt.

IMO if it isn't at least 485 I wouldn't switch over to direct injection. There are too many down sides. Unless Ford has a solution for contamination of the valves, I would stay far, far away.

I thought that's the reason it also has port injection (as well as DI) to help combat the valve contamination

455tq isn't possible with this configuration. It would be the most torque/L of any mass produced naturally aspirated engine - ever.

Keeping port injection also. There are 16 injectors, and the port injectors will still be spraying fuel over the back of them.

Doesn't the 2017 Challenger 392 Hemi scat pack output 485 hp/ 475 tq?

Yes.

Torque per litre of displacement. If the scat pack had the same specific torque output as the coyote (2017 model) it would make 512tq.

470 should definitely be possible. The specs of the new 5.0 are very similar to the new Lexus LC500 5.0 v8:

"...the high-compression, dual-injected, 7300-rpm 5.0 ... gives the LC500 peaks of 471 hp at 7100 rpm and 398 lb-ft at 4800
"The 2UR-GSE 5.0-liter V8 powering the Lexus LC 500 is an updated version of the engine found in the RC F & GS F. The engine is a naturally-aspirated 32-valve V8, and features D-4S direct fuel injection, Atkinson cycle operation, and optimized VVT-i."

It also has a 7300 rev-limiter vs 7400 or 7500 for the mustang.

It does have 12.3:1 compression vs 12.0:1 in the mustang.

I think what we can all agree upon is that it's taking too bloody long of Ford releasing official numbers
