I just finished installing the Whipple 2.9L on my car, and wanted to document this portion of my build separately.

My theme for the car has been a classy build with top quality parts with attention to detail. I mention that, because some of the parts that are listed below could be considered unnecessary. However, I went with everything listed here to compile my own "Complete Whipple Kit."

Many thanks to Jay@Hypermotive for the assistance on this one. Stellar transaction and phenomenal service after the sale was made! Always a pleasure doing business.

Snags Along the Way

Disclaimer: Whipple Superchargers is an amazing company. They stand behind their product, and are incredible with customer service. The issues listed below have yet to be brought up to Whipple, as these were all noted during the Holiday weekend. I will reach out tomorrow morning and I am very confident that they will take care of all of these concerns. The purpose of listing these is to hopefully help someone in the future who faces a similar concern. All fixes/solutions will be documented as well.

***UPDATE***

I contacted Whipple on Monday morning, and I spoke with Jeff. He was really helpful, and was great to speak with! He immediately let me know that they would take care of me, and even provided me with some good feedback on my install.

Those of us who were using fuse location #44, should switch to #62. It will not be triggered with the press of the clutch.

Jeff was so kind as to overnight me some new worm clamps, an inner intake ring, and also a connector, wire, and loom to correctly wire the dual fans. Turns out, that the remaining connector is meant to tap into the same orange wire off of the Intercooler pump harness as I had thought. Smooth and easy fix! Thanks to the guys at Whipple!

Whipple Couplers were too big:

Inner Ring for Intake Box is missing a welded nut therefore only 3 of 4 screws can be used to mount it to the box:

Intercooler Pump Harness received does not have a "turn on for dual fan relay" as per the diagram:

D14EA24A-A5CB-4B8D-B2F7-1236B6046343.jpg

Intercooler Pump Harness Recieved:

Dual Fan Harness received has the female side of the connector for the "turn on for dual fan relay" that is meant to be plugged into the Intercooler Pump Harness that comes with the Complete Kit:

Currently the fans do not run at all. I need power to them through the connector. Sure I can cut the connector off and tap into a switched wire, but I want to hear back from Whipple. I don't want to cut off the connector if Whipple has another harness for me to use.

I also have a slight leak in the air intake near the throttle body. I am convinced it is the t-bolt clamps. The red couplers you see fit a bit better than the black coupler pictured above in this post.

Very minor inconveniences that I need to deal with, but I'd still consider this a flawless setup and a phenomenal kit!!

In for pictures of the autometer gauges :p

The other 2 were on back order, but they'll be here on Tuesday. I'm still waiting on the Speed of Sound Dash Pod as well. Should be here any day. So installed pics to come soon!

Thank you brother! I appreciate it! I am very thankful for all of the information you shared about your experience with the OPG. It was very helpful!

The rest of my gauges will be here sometime this week. I think Tuesday, so I'll get to work on them soon. The big part of the install is done, now I'm dialing in this tune with Lund and finishing up the odds and ends. I'll be sure to update this thread.

I'm a little behind you, waiting on my OPG, Crank Gear and IAT2 harness. I think UPS may have lost it. I also received the 3.750 instead of 3.625 pulley.
