Damn it I'm stuck. I'm timing the motor again as per instructions. But when I took apart the driver side the cam moved a little. Now all together and all timing marks line up but I can't rotate the crank full revolution. Any help would be appreciated

Also do I rotate one full revolution from 5 o'clock back to 5 o'clock and than move to 12 o'clock?

Thanx

Why can't you rotate it? Is it binding? Do you have both timing chains installed? Do you have all the plugs out? I assume you could rotate it fine until you installed the chain(s)?

Plugs are out. Timing was off. I'll have at it tomorrow and update. I did not rotate a full revolution and was off one link I think. Live and learn. Thank you for all the help!!!!

Timing was off by one link. Take your time doing this. Real easy to fudge shit up and you'll be doing this 2wice like me. Also my water pump seal swelled up. Get one in advance. Otherwise you'll be kicking yourself.

Thanx so much for the help jchristena much appreciation.

I didn't need to use any new gaskets. All of mine were perfect.

what gaskets did you re use?
All but water pump o-ring. I never had it off the pump or anything but it swelled up so I had to get a new one.

Did you use the recommended "Crankshaft Holding Tool"? Or did anyone else?

It would make it easier...but you don't need it. Just use the old balancer bolt that you have to replace anyway. If you have an M6, just put on the e-brake and put it in 6th when you don't want the motor to spin.
