The Evolution of Amelia

This is mostly just for me to keep track of my own progress, and I love seeing so many other people share their progress, so I thought I would give it a go as well. I honestly didn’t even know there was a dedicated subforum to just member builds, so consider me pretty stoked!

Amelia's build will be a learning experience for me, as I have never done any extensive performance work on any car before. However, I love learning and I'm a quick study, and more than anything I love experimenting, so Amelia will be my guinea pig (within reason, of course).

Since my planning with different phases went to hell, I'll just not include any of that info, lol

I actually don't mind the stock shifter at all, but it could stand to firm up JUST a tad. I also didn't want my shifts to be too short, and the Steeda just seemed like the perfect compromise. I had orignally wanted the MGW, but that was out of my price range, and honestly more work than necessary for what I was looking for. I think the bushing bracket and tri-ax will be perfect for what I need. Plus it retains the reverse lockout and I just didn't want to fiddle with that.

Steeda shifter base bushing bracket is on its way to me, and I'm about to pull the trigger on the hood spear decals. I decided to go with white instead of silver since white on blue is such a classic combo, I feel like it just wouldn't be right to do any other color combination, lol.

Turns out my old Rhino ramps had a crack in them -_- So I knocked out a whole bunch of birds with one stone and just bought a jack, a bunch of stands, and a bunch of other stuff. I figured I will need them all sooner rather than later anyway.

Also, made an impulse buy and decided to get one of those "GO BABY GO" decals being sold on this forum. Because why not?

Some recent pics with all the stuf that's been completed so far. And just because she's pretty :-)

Oh I forgot to mention, I'm going to color match the chin splitter with the rest of the body as well. Bought some DIB spray and clear coat. DOes anyone know if I need to sand the splitter at all, or if it's rough enough as it is to take the paint?

Peeled the black plasti off the hood vents today since I'm getting the white hood spears this week. Felt that a blue car with black vents and white stripes was a bit overkill

Phase 1 of Amelia's stripes is complete. Super easy install with American Muscle's hood spears! My daughter got to help; she seems more proud than I am, lol

Thank you! The fun hasn't even started yet, lol. Steeda shifter base bushing bracket and short throw shifter are coming in next week. I'm going to be reviewing them both here and for my work.
