I love my RedLine Struts also. I followed a Forum member's advice and used my rotary Dremel tool to cut a fine line out from the new battery cover hole to the cover edge.
Now I can easily remove the battery cover without having to remove the strut

Just remember to put a rag or towel into the fender gap next to the battery cover. There is just enough room to drop a tool into the fender interior. Half an hour to install the MRTs and hours fishing out the dropped tool.

A set of painted RedLine struts is on my short list of must-haves. Saving the pennies....

Ditto!

P.S. - I slit my battery cover case next to the mounting plate too, like many others did, using stainless steel scissors: no issues. Living in Pennsylvania, the only time I'll ever need to get at that battery is when the battery dies because temps are in the teens, and that's no the time to be putzing around pulling hood struts off - especially when they're the only thing holding up the hood after I removed the prop rod!
