Three days early and the night before I left for vacation my dealer called me and said it had arrived and was ready for pickup. Packing for my trip had to wait and I rushed down to the dealership! It was a great vacation but Ali could think about was my new car in the garage.
I'm home from vacation and have driven it for a few days and I can say this car is amazing to drive - it has great pickup off the line and hugs the road. It is a stunner in person. Pictures don't do the new body justice. People walk up to you to talk about it and tell mustang stories when they see you in the parking lot. It's crazy.
For some perspective on my special order, my first car was a 1966 straight 6 with 200 horsepower and a three speed manual transmission. It was originally sold by a dealer in New Orleans and the first owner had the car immediately painted Poppy Red even though the color wasn't sold that year. I rebuilt that engine - twice.
I loved that car and when I ordered this one I tried to make it as close to my original ride as possible! The color offset by the black interior and the retro dash just feels right when I sit down in the cockpit. By the way, the fit and finish of the interior is so well built. Nothing feels cheap or slapped together like so many modern vehicles.
It may not be a GT, but the car is perfect for me and I love it!
