The BMW forum I was on before here had a thread with people sharing pictures, and tid bits about their outdoor cooking habits. I didn't see one so I thought I would start one! Please post pictures, recipes, or anything else you would like to share about your grilling/bbq experience!

For fathers day I told my wife I wanted to do some dinosaur ribs. So I picked up a 3 ribs (almost 6 pounds) and smoked them. Was pretty dang good.

Tried to keep the temp of my smoker at 250 though it did get up to 275 part of the time.

Used mesquite wood

Did it for 5 hours though I would of liked it to maybe a couple more hours.

I used a Oakridge BBQ Black Ops Brisket Rub:

At the last hour I did baste them with some Jank BBQ sauce to try something different.

Those beef ribs look great. I'm not an expert on BBQ-ing. Really the most I'll do is cook a steak on cast iron. That's about it. lol

My kinda thread! I smoke using a Yoder Ys640 after years of a stick side smoker. Love it!! I have other little tools to add/remove smoke but overall the consistancey I get from the Yoder is amazing! Doesn't hurt I can set my wirless thermometer to monitor chamber temps and meat though the night never tending to a fire :)

Here are some ribs and a brisket I did recently.

I like to fool around with my side fire box more than direct grilling now. That doesnt mean I'm very good at it, but so far nothing has been inedible. LOL
I mostly do ribs or chicken. I've done a couple of whole butts, but they take too long and require too much constant attention, especially since my grill/smoker is charcoal.

BBQ pork ribs & coleslaw

I've mastered a pit myself, and enjoy doing pork ribs, St. Louis style or babybacks. Just did some beef ribs for 6 hrs plus and the result was nice. Thank's for the thread. MY neighbor has a "pellet smoker" and recently did a brisket, I do not care for real smoky meat & I mix bagged charcoal with oak or pecan or mesquite.

An hour per pound is a good baseline, but keep in mind bone weight, especially when smoking beef ribs. Subtract the approximate bone weight, or you will over cook your meat.

As previously stated, a digital thermometer with a remote display is an awesome tool.

If you are looking for a lighter smoke flavor, just hit it for a hour or so, then finish cooking on a grill or oven.

Great thread.

I've been rocking a Weber Smokey Mountain for many, many years. I'm one of those guys that has to kindly correct someone when they refer to 'grilling' as 'BBQing', since there is a huge difference.

I don't take many pics of the end results these days, but here's my smoker right after it landed up north for an annual fishing weekend with buddies (note the custom carrier). Nothing better than good beer and fresh BBQ in the north woods. :)

I think I could literally BBQ or smoke meats all day, every day. It's one of the other things that gets me excited just like a Mustang does.
