Prices are getting out of control. A true Ford needs to be attainable for most people. An AWD GT500 with an auto transmission option, twin turbo V6, 500 horsepower, focus on weight reduction, 3.0-3.5 0-60, decent fuel mileage.
So AWD, light weight, twin turbo 500hp, 3 sec 0-60 with good fuel mileage, all at a reasonable price?

Why didn't Ford think of that? :lol::doh:

You mentioned that people are buying german cars because the american's aren't building the ones they want. Which German car is it that checks the boxes above? I'd like to head over to the dealership and place my order.;)

Exactly.. You're gonna spend a lot more than the price of a GT500 for an Audi that would come close to it's performance.

It would be nice to have a mustang that's AWD, TT with the 10 speed automatic. The cost, the space, the weight.. what else? It would be one expensive mustang.

If the Challenger GT is a success, twin turbos will get them close to 500HP....I think they see where the market is headed.

Several options at around 400 HP, AWD, auto trans. for around $50k, do some research. The German's won't step on their higher priced models with that kind of power (500 hp) for under 60-70 grand. 500 HP at $50k doesn't exist yet...that's my point smartass.
500hp at 50k doesn't exist yet? i thought ford came out with a 526hp NA car that had a base price of 49.9k, oh wait they did, its called the GT350 and i own it.

Yes i am being a smart ass but your post is a bit silly. You want the car to have AWD but also for it to be light weight, you want the car to do 0-60 in 3 sec but only have 500hp, you want it have good fuel mileage and you want it all less than 50K. if you are locked in on spending only 50K i suggest you only pic 1 item on that list that is important to you.

Ok twin turbo and get your 500hp, let me know how your 4500lb car does in the 0-60 and what kind of great fuel mileage you get.

Funny thing is around 9-10 years ago I posted on another forum that a 300HP mustang getting 30mpg highway for 30 grand would be awesome. Got flamed big time. I wasn't too far off. $65,000 garage queen Mustangs are not the future.
So you are saying that you want the next GT500 that will deliver all that stuff you described for under 50K, but you are ok with it being released in 2027? People are thinking about what the GT500 is going to be like now or next year.

Even a broken clock is right twice a day.

Dual Pulley Audi S4 ....4,100 pounds, used low miles CPO for $45k, 2-3k for mods, 0-60 = 3.6-3.9 secs...low 11 s quarter mile, 28 mpg highway. Get the picture. U guys need to look around. Show me daily driven in the winter GT350 that somebody paid 50k for
1. Now we are talking about used cars? in that case buy a GT with 5.0 for 20K, put a TT kit on it for 10K and have 1,000hp.. see anyone can play the pretend game. The point is these are not factory built warrantied cars... anyone can throw power at a used cars and make them out perform factory cars

2. there is an ENORMOUS difference between 3.0 second 0-60 and 3.6-3.9

3. i get the picture. You are very tangential, or are you suggesting that Ford start buying certified preowned S4's and putting turbo's on them and rebadging them as GT500's?

4. 50K GT350, sure it was the base model without any options

HAHAHA now we are talking about E85 conversion cars!

Fantastic... can you tell me what the mileage of this car is? How about registering the car in California, how would that be? And how much does this S4 weigh? 4100lbs? hardly would call that lightweight.

Back to my original point, your list is not ridiculous until you expect Ford to do them all and for under 50K.
