Alright so I was at Ford today and talking to some master tech. Was told the GT500 will be released in 2018 will have a v8 twinscrew with.... a AWD system producing anywhere from 750-800hp. So i got a little curious and thought I would examine their website for some little secrets. So I checked the source doe on their website and this is what I found.

Thats what the tech told me. It makes sense. Everytime the gt500 comes out it dominates the industry. It has to do something to beat the hellcat and new camaro zl1.

Highly doubt any tech would have this info, much less anyone at one of the dealerships. Unless your neighbors with some ford execs or very high end design engineers I don't buy it.
Well Im just relaying some info from what he told me. Hes been with company for over a decade and is a master tech. We were talking and he told me if I wanted more power out of my gt to just hold out for the gt500 and that it comes with a twinscrew 750-800hp with a awd system.

This. I've been a master tech with Mercedes for 10 years and I'm still finding out about new models from random internet forums. We get more detailed information than the average person, but not until after the car is at least publically announced.

The 'source code' says 2016 GT500 and 5.8l engine. Not exactly groundbreaking stuff.

Thing is stuff always trickles down... Just something I thought I'd share from what I found but a AWD system does seem likely though considering that much power its going to need more grip to launch and handle.

The TR9007 would be the transmission for ANY AWD application. It is currently used in the 3000lbs Ford GT.

As of now, the TR9007 is rated at 664tq@5250lbs GVWR (about 4000lbs). If a Twin Screw is used, the rating would be around 700-ish HP. However, the TR9007 can be altered for more OR, the engine can be tuned HP heavy, it could go as high as say... 808hp but have 670tq...

ESPECIALLY if they boost a smaller displacement Voodoo (526/430). A Twin Turbo 289 at 808hp and AWD would be awesome.

I've been inspecting the code for a while on the site. This has been in it for years and is leftover from the s197 mustang. You can still find the 2016 boss 302 in the code too using a well constructed google search (search for "site:ford.com 2016 boss 302")

If you search on deeper "2016 gt500" pages (specs page, safety page, etc.) it still has the 2014 gt500 references too, but still titled as 2016 gt500; same for the "2016 boss 302" pages, which has 2013 boss 302 references with a 2016 page title.

I am not at all surprised to hear about the twin screw and I am suspecting this is factual.

AWD would be simply amazing but I seriously doubt it. I'll keep my fingers crossed but doubt it.

I said I was keeping my Whippled 15' till a redesign in 2025 but you can bet my bottom dollar I will sell my kidneys to get one of these if said AWD pans out.
